The re-review: Imagine a quaint little hut nestled just under the hill where Lidingö kyrka stands…read more It looks so un-assuming from the path running in front of it and potentially ordinary but you notice the soft glow of a neon cafe sign inside, and as you approach the windows you start to see someone's delicate art take shape. The old, double-set of wooden doors present the final barrier to this mysterious little enclave: one swinging out and then other letting in. It's then you realize that the little hut holds more than you imagined, or perhaps just what you dreamed might be possible if you gave it a chance. Opening in May of 2015, this now obvious gem sat abandoned for 2 years until the wonderful owner had the vision to spot a diamond in the rough. People like this are so inspiring, and this tiny little cafe feels like it was handled with so much love that it can't help but wash over you a little bit with your coffee. The woman that owns Kaptensstugan now is so kind and her years of experience in cafes shines so brightly in this little cottage. A heartful thank you to people like this, who master their chosen craft so brilliantly and can present the art of life in a way that touches the lives of those around them. Recommended.

Service, despite a crowd, was fairly quick, I would rate the coffee an A or 9/10 on the scale of strength, low acidity/smoothness. It is espresso based and made to exact order. There are serval options for milk (whole, oat, 1/2 and 1/2, etc). The major complaint would be that there is no easy place to throw away your rubbish, nor is there a place that is clearly evident to bust your dishes, which is much needed given that this is a super busy place.. The staff is too busy to bus tables regularly, which backs up the availability of seating . This is the major reason for a one star deduction.. TIP: You can buy beans or ground coffee for home brewing.

It's not the best in the world, but it's quite ok... I always try to have something with the latte. They have this cracker with seeds that goes well with the latte and whenever I ask information regarding what they have on display, they always get the ingredients list and explain all the content of that certain food/sweet/cake. Only recently did I try their princess cake (one of Sweden's best inventions). Again, I don't think it's the ultimate best I've eaten, but I'll eat it again with no problems!
