We stayed in both log cabins and had the kitchen (which we did pay for so no special favors there), with our leader staying in a motel room nearby. We all had a wonderful time staying here and I think about that trip all the time. Yes we had some mayflies that came in when we let the doors open too long, or some small spiders, but it was generally a clean cabin despite being right in the woods. As someone who is terrified of bugs, and isn't someone who would claim to love or even like camping, I genuinely felt great staying here! Waking up to the gorgeous sunrises of Oklahoma on the deck was my favorite part of the day at Diamondhead. The group would attest as well that the lake we were at was so wonderful, and we all had a lovely time skipping rocks and looking at nature and the waves of the water. There are plenty of places to make campfires, gather wood, run around, explore, you name it. It was genuinely incredible to stay here and I am so thankful every day I got to come here. One day I'll come back! In short, if you are looking for a place to stay to explore the wilderness and have a traditional camping experience, I would come here. Wife and I booked a full week here for the Cherokee holiday…read more The room was large, clean and comfortable. It had all the usual amenities, and for a long stay those little things really matter. The breakfast was great- with nice choices every day. The 24 hour fresh coffee was outstanding, as my wife and I are coffee people. Coffee is our love language. The staff are very friendly and professional, making our stay excellent.

Then there is a sign in the breakfast room with more prayers , not sure if this is common in OK but not so professional. The food at breakfast was meh, at best. Selections was very limited and they were at full capacity. The eggs seemed powdered. Only had 1 type of fresh fruit. Had a couple of issues with them leaving towels in room after they removed old ones. Had to go down to get some one night as there was only 1 towel and no washcloths in our bathroom. They left the "tip" Envelope out in plain site but couldn't leave washcloths . The common area was clean but small.

No wifi, no sewer hook up (they do have a dump station), no concrete or rock pads. You will be on grass. We kind of sank in a bit. Hardly anyone here so its not an issue now but if you come when its busy you will be right next to your neighbor. If any of that bothers you then I'd pick somewhere else. Oh also not many signs to point you to the RV park. But really it is a nice setting. We would come back for a day or two but not for any long term stays.
