    Spitz, The Employee’s Law Firm

I worked with Spitz, The Employee's Law Firm and my experience was extremely disappointing…read more From the beginning, I made it clear that when we discussed settlement amounts, I was focused on what would actually hit my bank account. That expectation was brought up multiple times, and I relied on my attorney to either structure things accordingly or clearly explain any differences. Based on those conversations, I moved forward expecting a settlement that would meet a minimum take-home amount. Instead, after everything was finalized, I received only about 80% of what I believed I would be getting. I am not a lawyer, so I depended on clear communication and a proper explanation of how the settlement would be structured. That did not happen. The impact of taxes and how they would reduce the actual amount I received was not clearly explained to me beforehand. When I raised the issue afterward, I was told directly that the owner "does not fix issues like this," and that nothing would be done to make up the difference, even though this situation could have been avoided with proper communication. At that point, it became clear to me that once the case was closed, there was no interest in taking responsibility or making things right. The difference may not seem significant from a firm perspective, but it would have made a meaningful impact for me while I was actively trying to secure new employment. That made the refusal to address it even more frustrating. I trusted this firm to represent me and guide me through a process I am not trained in. Instead, I was left with significantly less than I expected and no meaningful effort to address it. Based on my experience, I would avoid this firm.

Hello, I had a very bad experience with Spitz Law Firm. I spent a lot of time for days filling out…read morethe very tedious and time consuming intake form. I answered 173 questions and then was scheduled with Attorney Sofia Alfaro. I sent all types of confidential information the law firm requested such as, W2-form (glad I removed my social security number before sending a copy), paystubs and documentation pertaining to my case. When Sofia called me she then asked me what state that I lived in despite me clearly indicating that I lived in Michigan on the intake form and her typing up a summary of events and she also confirmed Michigan as my location in preparation for our consultation. Back to what happened... When Sofia called me and then suddenly told me that she unfortunately couldn't continue the consultation with me due to the law firm not being able to accept any clients from Michigan due to the partner leaving the law firm who represented clients in MI. My concern is that before getting all my confidential information the law firm should've made sure they were able to legally represent cases in MI it was very unprofessional and a waste of time. It's suspicious to ask for W-2 information then suddenly the next day cancel a consultation. I would choose another law firm. I hope this review helps. Have A Wonderful Day

I'm familiar with this industry & GPD has it together. From the building down to each employee- everything is top notch. The building, itself is absolutely gorgeous. Amazing marble & decadent pillars. 3 elevators to choose from so you're never crowded. There is a reception desk for assistance right in the main lobby- directly across is a nice little cafe w/ a variety of selections + full bar. The upper levels are a bit more "industrial" in design, but totally fitting. A clean, modern white theme w/ some popping, cool accent lights. Full, glass office walls & sliding doors make it feel even more open. You'll find the bathrooms cleanly & spacious, next to an actual full kitchen! And of course there is a reception desk right as you exit the elevator on GPD's floor- immediately greeted. Each department has their own respective area. There isn't a specialty they don't touch on. In-house engineers, project management, design, infrastructure, etc... the team I had the pleasure of interacting with were passionate and ambitious! The event was complete with an amazing mimosa + make your own Bloody Mary bar, table full of brunch bites & great conversation amongst team members & guests. It was a pleasure meeting others in the industry & learning about their current projects along with the company as a whole. Absolutely everyone made it feel like a wholesome community. You can see there is great passion here in every aspect. No cutting of corners & genuinely open to share their expertise. I was certainly impressed with the organization & can only hope to engage further in the future!
