This antique store has the creakiest floors and the mustiest smell (in a good way), so that means…read morethat it's the best antique store, according to my parameters. For these reasons and many others, Antiques on Main is my favorite vintage/antique store in Christiansburg. This store is huge! It has many different rooms full of old things. I'm always on the lookout for milkglass mugs that are decently priced. I saw many such mugs, but the price was a little too rich for my blood. That said, you will find some deals here -- it just depends on what you're looking for. Whilst walking around, I saw seasonal decorations, statues, magazines and books, tableware, random things like a basket full of starfish, and many other tchotchkes and miscellany. They have some clothing here, but I would not visit looking for clothes. Mostly, you'll find collectible things here.

After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new stores and restaurants, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Antiques on Main in Christiansburg, Virginia, is the perfect example. Located on 4 West Main Street, in a building that was built circa 1919, the old Barnes-Surface Motor Company Building, this antique store is in the perfect location to house a beautiful collection of treasures of the past, present, and future. Staffed by knowledgeable and friendly staff who gave us a warm welcome and answered all our questions, the store was well organized and well lit to be able to better appreciate each item being displayed there. One thing that it doesn't have is air-condition. However, one can find fans spread out all over the place to cool it down and make your journey inside more pleasant. The day we went to visit was hot and humid, so I would recommend visiting the store on a cool day. If you enjoy antiques of all kinds, you'll enjoy walking around this store and viewing the great variety of items they have, reasonably priced. You'll also find that some of the areas have their items on sale. I highly recommend this antique store. It has something for everyone. Items to decorate your home or business with, or to give as gifts to family or friends.

We learned about this place when we recently visited nearby Madison. Specifically, the owner of…read moreMadison Dry Goods recommended the marketplace. We made note of it and decided to stop in. My wife and I both enjoy searching (picking) used, vintage and antique items and are always looking for items that catch our eye. No, we are not hoarders! But we have found some random things that make us happy and on many occasions have made us money when we decided they should go to a new home. We had some time on a rainy Sunday afternoon and decided we would grab something to eat and find the Stokesdale Marketplace. We came here about 1pm. From the road, the building looks like a big warehouse. Pay attention to the directions because it is not immediately accessible from the main road. You need to enter on a side road to access the parking lot. We parked and walked inside. Looking down the walkway, my wife said, "wow, this place is huge!" We proceeded to begin walking through each area strategically so we wouldn't miss anything. We were surprised when we came to their indoor bar and snack area. Today it was closed but we thought it was a good idea. We were impressed they have a nice place to sit and ponder your future purchase or the purchase you just made. It also looked like they even have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. We found a few things for our house and will be back. It will also be a good place to bring out of town family when they visit.

Checked this place out while visiting my dad. Plenty of stalls/vendors to browse. Was able to pick…read moreup a vintage tablecloth and a couple postcards. Prices for the most part seemed reasonable.
