I had a French fish soup - with vegetables, salmon, clam shells and French baguette with a melted cheese and some sauce on the tope of that miracle. I liked it a lot! It is absolutely necessary to reserve a place as it gets very busy in the evening. They have tables for up to 4 people, but for us they did 6 (once again, the service is great). The prices are very reasonable and the place if not far from the center. Definitely coming again, once I'm back to Tampere!

I've been to Frankly over the years maybe 3 or 4 times. It is a nice, peaceful and classy…read morerestaurant with a menu with different steaks and actually a surprising number of vegetarian dishes. The only thing I missed from the menu was a chicken or turkey dish, but they did have duck. For the main course, you can choose a side that comes with it, e.g. cream potatoes or salad. This restaurant goes in to the category of affordable yet classy which is perhaps one of the reasons I've often been here for company dinners, team event dinners and such. The last time I was here, I had a jumbo shrimp skewer and though it has some chili, it was definitely not spicy. I though it actually lacked flavor. For main dish I had the vegetarian crepes with ratatouille vegetables and cheese topping and loved it. It was really tasty. For the dessert I had the rhubarb pannacotta. Pannacotta itself was tasty but I didn't like the rhubarb too much. My colleague had the chocolate cake and that looked much much better. There was a crazy amount of chocolate in the cake - like 2-3cm at the top. :)

The best Chinese in Tampere, probably Finland!…read more Very tasty food especially if you like a spicy one (Chilly beef, Curry beef / chicken are our favorites). Rather big portions and costs like 8 - 7.5 euros to eat in, 6.5 to take away. Despite a cheaper price, taste-wise beats any of the city's expensive Chinese restaurants (13-15 euros per dish).

Really small chinese restaurant located pretty close the train station and main street. Most locals…read moreorder out from this place because it is so cheap only 6.5€ per portion and the portions are really big. If you are headed to eat there be sure to go at times of no rush. Some years ago it was ranked as the best Chinese restaurant in Tampere. I wouldn't give that award anymore if they don't put more effort in quality and taste. Food: Most of the time food is average and sometimes it's really good and sometimes it's just plain. We have been going here for a couple of years and ate the whole list and nowadays ordering the same portions from time to time and I can say that the quality of the food varies a lot. Chili chicken is sometimes spicy and really good but most of the times it's just chicken in soy sauce with vegetables. So if you want it spicy I would ask for it separately but beware sometimes when I've done it has really been spicy and I do like it but there's a fine line. Environment: The place is really really really small. Probably around 10-15 customer seating. Decorations are your generic chinese restaurant things but still you get a cozy feeling of the family who runs the place. Service: Service has always been pretty fast. Around 10-15min when ordering take out. People are happy and speak some Finnish but you get the job done. Price: Possibly the cheapest chinese restaurant in Tampere. I'd say it's good value for the money at least for take out. It's open until 10pm and 6.5€ per portion and you will eat two times from that portion if you aren't Hulk.
