I played musical instruments in my…read morechildhood and adolescence and have always loved singing, but don't have any formal vocal training. Voice lessons seemed like a great and portable way to bring music back into my daily life without committing to an instrument. In my experience, Danielle is a phenomenal voice instructor. She quickly figured out what I could already do and where I needed help to grow. She helped me pick songs that fit my style and vocal range. We have worked on several songs and I've found one that feels like a great fit. It is a pleasure to sing! Danielle combines all elements of a professional musician's skill and experience with authenticity, kindness, humor, humility, playfulness, and encouragement. When she says her lessons are "judgment free," she really means it. Initially I was afraid to sing in front of another person, and especially a singer as skilled as Danielle. It requires tremendous courage to sing in front of others. After the first session, though, I noticed that I felt so relaxed and relieved in my body afterward. That happens every time, like the lesson is a nervous system reset. If I come in jangled and heavy, I walk out joyful and light. What I didn't expect when I started is that the deeper gains that go with singing lessons--vulnerability, courage, creativity, and self-awareness, to name just some--are creeping out into the rest of my life. I am trusting my judgement more in my other creative pursuits, and seem to be finding my voice across a wide range of areas. There is something about this work that lets us access our spirit and express it. It's a profound and remarkable thing, and I had no idea my whole life would benefit from working with Danielle. HIGHLY recommended!

Breakthrough Moments From the Very First Lessons…read more I can't recommend Danielle LoPresti enough as a singing teacher. She is amazing--supportive, patient, and incredibly kind. Almost immediately after I started taking lessons with her, she helped me break through obstacles that I had struggled with my whole life. What I appreciate most is her holistic approach to singing. For me, it's about expression, not perfection, and Danielle truly understands that. She creates a safe environment where I never feel judged or rushed, which makes it much easier to explore my voice and grow with confidence. Another thing that makes her classes special is the community she has built among her students. She organizes opportunities for us to meet and perform, which is incredibly valuable. Watching and learning from others is inspiring, and it also reminds us that many of us share the same challenges--stage fright, nervousness, and sometimes the pressure of perfectionism. If you're looking for a supportive teacher who truly helps you grow as a singer and as a performer, Danielle is fantastic.

Raz is a talented singing instructor!! The question is, can you be an A student…read more Have you ever wanted to sing your heart out loud but thought you sucked at singing, so you didn't even want to try? Well, chances are, you probably don't know how to sing, and trust me, singing can be taught, especially by Raz. Raz is a teacher for a reason and that is to TEACH you how to sing. He's been doing this for over 30 years. Think about it, why would there be so many vocal teachers, if singing can't be taught? But first, get over the fact that you're not going to be on The Voice after taking 10 vocal lessons and just believe that with practice and dedication, anything can be achieved. IF you PRACTICE 10,000+ hours of singing, maybe then, you'll get on The Voice, but for now, just love the learning process and have fun. It may seem daunting at first, i know, and when you first hear yourself sing, you're probably thinking to yourself.. oh F, why am i even trying or worse, think that the sound of a cat dying sounds better than me singing, at least that's what i thought.. So if you want to impress your friends at the next karaoke night or have a dream to sing live somewhere, book several lessons with him and don't forget to practice on your own. You didn't learn how to play the piano after four 1hr lessons... what makes you think you can sing after four hours and not practice?

All of a sudden, looking down at them, he was 15 once more. He was in the M1 building of his high school, singing with his choir mates, beaming at the choir teacher in unison. He doesn't just remember it, for he is fully there in the moment, in person, breathing the very air. AGC brings all lovers of choir and singing back to those sort of nostalgic days. People who have been a part of formal singing and still actively pursue it, know that music will always be a part of their lives. It's everlasting and doesn't disappoint. "Shortly before my 16th birthday, that lucky star called choir, was due," Charles began. "Even in the darkness, even in the night, it showed me the neverending gift that circles back again: Singing." He peered onward, a slight smile on his face as he spoke. "Some years later, I discovered Ellen's fabulous Anything Goes Chorus (AGC)." "Ellen makes singing possible in her SATB-style choir, which was something I was a part of in high school, something I've been deeply fond of and always missed. I was researching vocal coaches as I have never been a great singer but had always loved to sing and thought it would be a good time to try to step out of my comfort zone. I saw that Alexys offered free first time sessions and immediately thought it sounded great based on the good reviews. I walked into his place, and immediately did not feel welcome. I did the vocal exercises with him but it just felt like such a judgy environment that I was never relaxed or comfortable. I am not doubting Alexys talents as l'm sure he is a wonderful coach and likely an even better singer but the way I was treated did not sit well with me, even all of these years later. The vibes seemed like he only wanted to work with more established singers, which is fine if he made that clear somewhere on the website, then I would have never booked. Just didn't love his approach especially it being my first time trying something new like this, as vocal coaches are supposed to help you find your voice not stifle it further. I've since seen much more open and supportive vocal coaches online and have now realized how wrong his approach was. Again, I'm sure Alexys is talent and it is likely he was just having an off day as we all do, but it was just not a good vibe and if you'd like to work with more talented people please make that clear. Sending blessing to him still because we all have off days but a bit of clear communication makes all the difference. Leaving two stars instead of one since he did go through with the session despite him seeming like he did not want to, which I suppose is its own form of kindness.

Faye created an atmosphere right from the start that was more welcoming and supportive than I have ever experienced. She focuses on the joy that making music brings, not all the things we were doing wrong. She just made everything we did so much fun! Consequently, I watched every person in the group grow as a singer and performer in ways I would not have imagined could happen in such a short time. Faye Carol will put you at ease and make you feel like an old friend. But she will also challenge you and help you discover your own abilities. She stresses that you do NOT need to try to be like any other singer. You just need to be you! You are not in competition with the other students. The other students are actually supportive. I was in class with other students that had been coming for months or years. It is like family! Always there with Faye is Joe Warner, a very accomplished and talented pianist. Whatever song you chose to bring for your solo, Joe will be able to master it very quickly. He will work with you and help you present your song as you wish or envision it, both to the other students and to family and friends who may come to witness the final recital. I felt the class was fun and challenging. I would certainly recommend it to my friends, and to those of you reading these reviews.
