The manager came over to introduce himself as he had never seen us before. Most of his (many many) customers are apparently regulars, which we took as very positive. The food was generally very good - I had a chicken Rezala, which I have only found in one other restaurant and love, so I was happy! My garlic naan (a once a month carb treat) did not let me down, it was scrummy! My sister asked for paneer tikka masala, and although they made it without a problem, I thought the sauce was more of a pasanda. It may have been the lack of food colouring (the manager explained his strict policy), but it was still nice. We will definitely be coming back! Although next time we may take the precaution of booking a table!

Basically I couldn't find the difference between passanda and makhani dishes, but both are really good. At the same time they are not rude or neglecting so I'd say the service could be improved, but though its not terrible. Decor looks dated, the carpets look dirty,and the furniture is fairly old, which makes you feel like you are actually in India:) although you might think that the place looks dirty, but their hygiene seems to be just fine in the kitchen. It's always daunting when you move to a new area, trying to work out which takeaways and…read morerestaurants are worth a visit, so I was delighted to find Palace Spice on the second attempt at ordering a curry in Crystal Palace. The food isn't at all greasy like you can sometimes find with Indian food, and from my experience that portions are very generous with a lot of meat in the meat dishes. We tend to order a mixture of dishes and sides so that everyone can share and experience as many different flavours as possible. That being said, we seem to have settled on a few set dishes now: The Chicken Manchurian, a very sweet mango chicken and prawn rice, saag aloo, with a garlic naan. If you put that order in, they'd be surprised it wasn't me ordering. As for the staff, they are incredibly friendly, always greeting me with a handshake and a smile. They remember me and what I've been up to, although thinking about it, that probably is a sign that I eat there too much! So to summarize, the food is sublime, the service is excellent and I would thoughly recommend it to anyone.
