She spent a long time checking in with me, talking about my concerns and asking me questions. She even demonstrated the path that energy takes through a few meridian lines that run through my face - neat! The highlights for me were: the amount of one on one time I got to with her, the calming and deep caring energy I felt from her, the knowledge she held about acupuncture and the meridian lines for the jaw, the quick relief of the tightness I had in my jaw, the deep relaxation I felt after the session AND the cold that was creeping up went away (yay!). I totally understand the value of a private acupuncture session over a community session now (until now I have only received a community session). Both are super healing, but the private session offers time for deep inquiry into health issues and concerns, asking questions and more time to be cared for one on one. Wow, I was so impressed with Mercer Internal Medicine and Dr. Abdalla! I called in the middle of…read morecold and flu hysteria as a new patient, keeping my fingers crossed that they'd take me either today or tomorrow. Luckily, they were able to fit me in today (though Dr. Abdalla did say I got very lucky there because I guess that's not the norm). The front desk staff were pleasant, kind, and helpful and I only waited about 5 minutes after filling out my paperwork. The nurse who took me back was great. She was very nice and actually told me my information, rather than just writing it on the chart without saying anything (I hate when they do that). I waited maybe 5-10 minutes in the room before Dr. Abdalla came in. I loved her!! She had an excellent bedside manner. She was everything I would want a doctor to be. Warm, kind, interested, knowledgeable, thorough, and not in a rush. She actually apologized for talking too much as she was explaining some of the possible causes for my symptoms. In case you missed that, let me repeat it -- she was APOLOGIZING for taking her time and addressing my concerns! She asked me a lot of questions about the illness I went in for and also spent time going over a few other things that I had checked off on my paperwork as general complaints (which I was not expecting her to even look at today). SUCH a breath of fresh air after my last experience with another doctor at another practice. Dr. Abdalla was the exact opposite of the doctor who rushed me in and out of her office, didn't listen to my complaints, and made me feel bad for bringing up problems I was having. I am soooo excited to have found a great doctor in my area who I feel really comfortable with!
