St. Lambert's church might be best remembered as the site where members of thr apocalyptic…read moreAnabaptist sect led by John of Leiden who led the Münster rebellion were tortured to death and their bodies exhibited in hanging metal baskets above the clock tower. Only the nave of church has windows with colored glass. We know Münster was heavily bombed during WWII, so we wonder if perhaps all the stained glass windows were blown out then and they decided to only replace the ones for the nave. While many buildings in the area were rebuilt in the original style, others opted for more modern and minimalist as well as understandably less expensive restorations while honoring earlier height restrictions.
