Kate's Kitchen just keeps getting better - they've expanded the seating area so you can have a leisurely browse through their collection of cookbooks and hip foodie magazines. The place rebranded a couple of years ago, and looks very cool and contemporary - wouldn't look out of place in Dublin city, but retains the charm of Sligo - facilitated by the Sisters O'Hara, the three sisters who are the creative energy behind the place. As well as a deli selling a wide range of speciality foods, teas, a 'free from' section, fresh cheeses, teas/coffees, sweet treats and lunches/dinners to go - there's also a dedicated skincare section, with some high end and reasonably priced beauty products. The window display changes with the seasons, as well as the stock. They're always ahead of the crowd, and this is a great spot to pick up a special gift. They're very active on social media and their instagram @kateskitchensligo is a feast for the eyes if you can't get instore. Kate's Kitchen/Hopper & Pettit is a tantalising "twinshop" consisting of a Delicatessen and Toiletry Unit. The deli has a whole host of delights not all Irish sourced but of very good pedigree none the less. I bought a fantastic carmelised chutney that I would like some more of. There are an abundance of fresh produce available here . The cosmetics and toiletries are in a separate little store within the main store and you can treat yourself to a selection of delights here also. The staff are charming. read more

Charming deli shop with a few bar stools so you can eat in. A different homecooked soup is available daily, coffee is really good and they do sandwhiches and salads for lunch. Also do great take away homecooked meals if you are feeling too lazy to cook of an evening. read more

Really liked this wee spot. I think Dublin (and for that matter, the entire country!!) could do with lot more stores like Kate's Kitchen. I love to browse places like this, you just never know what you'll come across. We picked up some honeycomb and dark chocolate fudge and peanut butter truffle treats but with great will power, didn't get anything else. The deli and coffee looked amazing though and I'll happily give them a go next time I am back!! read more

Queueing in this shop yesterday when it was quite busy, when I finally reached the top of the queue another customer who had not been queuing at all pushed I front of me, before she began her transaction I said "excuse me I was here first" the other customer just ignored me and the staff member shrugged and continued serving her. This is not acceptable customer service, and I will not be shopping here ever again; they were already on thin ice, for being overpriced, giving false information on the labels on their food item. read more
