We used Goodrich for a major school fundraiser in February (250 guests) and again this weekend for another high profile school function (90 guests). On both occasions, her team proved to be dependable, timely, efficient, thorough and competent. The service team always went the extra mile to provide exceptional customer service without being asked or prodded: moving fixtures, steaming tablecloths, replenishing food, offering to take guests' trash and even running drinks. When Lucas and other Goodrich staff are present, everyone feels like a VIP. Most importantly, Sherry is refreshingly flexible; she can concoct a creative, theme-inspired menu or she'll make good on your "I was thinking of A, B and C for X number of guests at a ball park price of $Y" must-have list. The food quality, presentation and taste are great, especially at prices 33% less than vendors used in the past. Book this excellent caterer and avoid that nauseous feeling of event worry and unknown calamity.

I want to take the time to write my opinion in regards to my catering experience with Rustic…read moreGourmet. My husband and I got married this past May (2010) and had one of the worst experiences ever. Our reception was being held at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens so we had to choose from one of the caterers on the list. The Botanical Gardens gave you a wide variety to choose from, totaling a number of 11-12 different companies. We chooses Rustic Gourmet because they could do what we needed and the price fit our budget, it is also a family run business and we liked that. Through out the year of working with Todd I started to become a bit nervous because it seemed difficult for him to find time to meet with us when we wanted to discuss some items and it seemed that he did some work last minute. I still tried to keep my confidence up though because he was on the NBG list and I knew that it was a lengthy process and you had to be good in order to make it on their list. Needless to say my gut feeling was right. Rustic Gourmet utterly embarrased my husband and I. Nearly 50 people did not get fed that night (they ran out of food), only one tray of Hors d'oeuvres were passed for a reception of 200 people, he arrived late to the gardnes only allowing himself 1.5 hours from the arrival time to the start of the event to step up and cook for a reception of 200 people, this also delayed our cake deliver and decorators who were told to come at 2:30pm because the tables would be set up, his wait staff was rude and told my dad he could not take a strawberry and further rolled their eyes at him when he proceeded to take one, no starwberries were ever actually placed on the cake table, he changed the set up of the room, when we had already assigned tables, leaving to brides parents table now in the rear of the room, he did not follow through with the number of cocktail tables in gazebos, and ran out of water at the bars. I could go into way more detail, but I will spare you. The cater never apologized for his mistakes and when we wrote a letter to the him expressing our concerns, he only replied with a letter pretty much stating we were wrong in every point we made. That he had done nothing wrong and no monetary refund would be given. I would at least like to money back for the 50 people who did not eat!!! I do want to states that though this was an awful experience and Rustic Gourmet functioned in a very non-professsional manner, the food that was eaten was delicious! Perhaps if he could run his business appropriately than he could be a huge success because Todd does know how to cook!!!

Cannot say enough how happy I am that we chose Pam and the Twisted-Fork team for our wedding! Long…read morereview incoming because I'm that much of a fan... I talked to a lot of caterers, but knew The Twisted-Fork was the right fit for us when Pam told me that with menu creativity, even a smaller budget can feel like much more - think I fell in love. It is SO rare in wedding planning to feel like someone genuinely has your best interest at heart, but that is exactly how I'd describe Pam and the Twisted-Fork team - genuine. We wanted an "elevated" cocktail-style wedding (~100 guests) instead of a traditional seated dinner/reception, which in my opinion makes good food and drinks that much more important to guests' experience - cue stress! But Pam made coordinating both catering and bartending such a breeze that it quickly became the thing I'd tell my now-husband "not even worried about that, Pam's got it covered". And she did - her team met, and exceeded, every expectation I had day-of (and I admittedly had a lot of them): Amazing, quality food that was displayed beautifully, a team that pitched in on extras without question and were so lovely to everyone, on-point bartenders that probably made at least 200 espresso martinis (sorry to their arms), and a perfectly clean kitchen afterwards! People have raved about the food and overall experience to me (shrimp cakes with lemon aioli, rhubarb bruschetta, and mini roast beef sliders were the top hits for our crew). We had 1. Bartenders that made guests come up to me and say "they see me coming and start making my drink for me" 2. A menu and flavors that felt unique and yet balanced and thoughtful to our specific event style/goals. I mean, really, what more could you ask for?? Even our other vendors would say "oh, you won't be disappointed" when they'd hear Pam was our caterer. If you're on the fence about catering for your event - absolutely recommend reaching out to the Twisted-Fork. Future you, and your guests, will thank you!! Thank you x a million, Pam!

Great to work with, flexible, and had a genuine concern that our day went the way we wanted it. The venue is very nice and the decorations make for great evening ambiance. It was just what we wanted. Noel was able to coordinate additional decorations from a previous event without charging us which we really enjoyed. The outside deck gives good views of Lynnhaven inlet as well. Service during our event was great, not intrusive and professional. Starting out with 5 stars because of Noel and her staff. Negatives, Food quality is about a 3 out of 5 stars and not representative of the price you are paying. Most items were clearly pre-made food service items that were re-heated or deep fried. Chicken was a little dry, sauce was pre-packaged, shrimp were fried or baked from frozen with sriracha sauce drizzled over them and labeled bang bang shrimp, apps were pre-made food service company items. We were disappointed in the food at the tasting, commented that we wanted the kitchen to step it up, but ended up with the same crap food for the event. Minus 1 star. They charge a service fee to pay with credit card here. I don't appreciate a business passing on the fee that a credit card company charges them so that they can offer that payment method to their customers. It's a slimy business tactic. If you're going to nickle and dime me for your costs, just build it in to your prices and then offer a cash discount. Minus .5 stars. Overall, we really enjoyed our event and our service was great, but the food is cafeteria quality at best. Fortunately, most people were distracted enough by the event to not care, but we definitely noticed.
