She keeps saying they are being made in France or wherever. She looks sweet and innocent, so it is perplexing. She chooses fabrics and good for her own self-promotion with the Design Center showrooms, not what is best for you or your home. Enough said. It doesn't matter what she says she will do or how talented she is. She will rip you off in the end. I should have sued her.

I would recommend Lawanna for your home interior design!!…read more She is professional and very talented. She listens to your needs and comes back with great solutions. She picked out gorgeous color schemes and incorporated the black and white color backdrop that I wanted. She picked out beautiful paint colors and wall paper. Added lovely fabrics and drapes in salmon and gold colors. She mixed modern furniture with antiques in the theme. She found an old antique desk and restored it. Painted it black with charming nobs. She is creative and has a great eye for detail. I wish I could add pictures for examples. Lawanna contracted an artist. He meet with me at my place and he painted amazing works of art to compliment the theme of my home. Now it is six years later and I am ready to have Lawanna come back to refresh with new colors and design. I appreciate having a talented interior designer working with me on my home.

While the move was executed, I wish I had done more diligence on both Chantale and her vendors. Her communication is extremely poor, so expectations were ill set and when we received the final invoice almost a full month past move, it took months to receive any sort of response on questions and when we did, they were often incomplete. A specific part of the challenge had to do with the moving company. Originally, we sourced our own movers but they were unwilling to work with Chantale. She recommended two replacement moving companies (both of which were at higher cost) and managed all communication with them. The one we chose ultimately charged 33% over their estimate, including requiring a full day from an additional senior staff from Simplicity Source (which inflated Simplicity Source's charges as well). This additional labor requirement was never communicated to (let alone approved by) us. When we asked Chantale why her recommended movers invoice came in so high over their estimate, there was little to no response by her or the movers and we were held responsible to fund, including the additional laborer. If you do choose to work with Chantale, do your own diligence, make sure you understand Chantale's plan in detail and ask more questions then you think necessary upfront. Additionally, she asked us not to be present for the move but I think it would have gone much better had we been in the new location to confirm placement of some of the furniture and items.

From the start, we could tell we were in good hands with Maeve. As first-time home-buyers we had lots of questions and even more questions we didn't even know to ask. Maeve either was able to answer our questions promptly or even conference us in with others such as architects to help us navigate certain issues as well. Maeve and our mortgage broker (having never met previously) also worked seamlessly together and as a team on our behalf. Their combined experience, and steady attitude was invaluable for us, considering the timing of our entry into the market. I would recommend Maeve and her team in without hesitation.

She's amazingly easy to work with, and is flexible, but will hold the line when it comes to budget or poor taste. At the beginning of each project Josie listens carefully to your goals and objectives. She then lays out the requirements for the project and works within your budget number to include furnishings, soft goods, hardware, window treatments/coverings, art and accessories. We've shopped at the design center, antique stores across the country and searched consignment stores for unusual accents. Josie works well with contractors, suppliers and has her own team of highly skilled artisans from upholsterers to furniture craftsmen and seamstresses. She knows how to keep her suppliers happy, the team happy and meet a schedule which is unique within the industry. I would unequivocally recommend her for both small, low budget projects and major new home builds--- her work ranges from kitchen remodels to small hotels. Check out her website for examples of her work.

The process didn't work at all and it was so bad that we decided to do it ourselves. It didn't take long for the anxiety over which colors to choose and where to put them became too much and we were calling Lynn to bail us out. Lynn litterally saved the day and calmed our fears when she came over to the house on short notice and explained with deep expertise the impact of applying colors and shades to the many various trim features of a victorian home. She created a palate based on what we liked and offered a few options that all worked well together. She chose a few colors I would never have guessed would look good with the palate and it turned out amazing. Lynn created a map showing exactly which colors should be applied where on the house, greatly improving communicate with the painters and ultimately making for a very smooth process. It was so surprising to me to see how different they look and much the colors change, when they are actually applied to the house. The color they sit next to might be the biggest factor. We adjusted slightly in a few areas when making final decisions with the painter, and Lynn was very responsive to follow-up questions and confirmations.

Top Notch Bay Area decorative painter!…read more I was lucky enough to have Lynne Rutter do custom Fortuny-style stencil work on my silk velvet Poiret-like cocoon coat for my rehearsal dinner ensemble. Though more known for her work on interiors/exteriors/furniture, she did an amazing job; custom designing & sizing the stencils to the proper proportion for the coat, cutting & then actualizing the design in various tones of metallic paint. I've heard stenciling on silk velvet is no picnic, but her results were just jaw-droppingly stunning. I was awash in a sea of compliments (and also for the coat's couture designer Kathleen Crowley). If you are lucky enough to work with Lynne, you will appreciate her wealth of experience, imagination, wit & (especially) her stellar craft. Check out her website for beautiful examples. Her schedule is always packed as she is in high demand around the country. If you've got a project and want the best, patience is a virtue. She will not disappoint. Also, having a glass of wine with Lynne post-project could just be the most fun you've ever had legally.
