Ojai Ave. It's the kind of place that instantly feels welcoming--you're always greeted with a smile, and even if you don't find something that day, the browsing itself feels like a small joy. That said, I always seem to find something! I still wear a cozy sweater I picked up there last year, and on my last visit, I found a pair of earrings that I absolutely love. The prices are reasonable and the items are in great condition. Since they're a consignment shop, they do accept items for resale--you get a percentage back when your item sells. If you're thinking about bringing something in, it's best to call ahead to check their process and which days they're accepting items. One more reason to love The Lennon Closet? A percentage of their sales goes toward Traumatic Brain Injury charities, making every treasure you find there even more meaningful. There are no dressing rooms to try things on and the woman who owns it smells like alcohol and tries to tell you all about her problems. The racks were cheap and falling apart because she stuffs so much on them, and I even came across someone's bra and soiled underwear stuffed between some sweaters. A total waste of time.
