I was literally walking in off the street while out on a bike ride, spontaneously wondering if there was someone to whom I could lob some questions. I had never bought a home before; my only experience with a 'big' purchase was my truck which, to this day, left me feeling icky about the sales experience I had. The kind receptionist lady referred me to Steven, and I'm so glad she did. I didn't know what to expect from a real estate agent. I kept picturing the scene from "American Beauty" where Annette Bening starts slapping herself at an open house to get the sale. But what I found in Steven was the opposite in every way--and more than I had hoped for. Steven was down to earth--grounded in an earnestness I feel I see less and less of in people these days. He gave me a gentle approach to the steps I should expect, gave me great referrals for people to reach out to for financing, and then sat back, never pressuring me to act. When I was ready I reached out and he was all set--showed me houses in my price range and gave very realistic feedback about the pros and cons of each one. He lives in the area he serves most (I believe), and somehow that came through. What I mean by that is that Steven acted like I might end up his neighbor, and there is a certain extra layer of trust that comes from doing business with your neighbor. When I did find the home I want, Steven never pressured me to make the sale go through, but guided me through the negotiation process with what felt (and proved to be) wise advice. He handled all inspection organization with the least burden to myself. After closing, he maintained his availability about any questions I had or concerns that came my way. I have now purchased my second home with Steven, and the same great experience was repeated once again. I highly recommend Steven for anyone shopping in the greater Seattle-area, and especially anyone shopping in the Mt. In the span of a 3 hour tour of homes, Jeanine got exactly the type of house and neighborhood we were looking for (which our original agent was never able to understand after working together for 2+ months).
