I needed to replace a tree so, my son & I headed out hunting for the one that 'spoke to me'. I found it at Karam Nursery. The selection is huge & beautiful. It was like walking around in a park. Not the usual big box, blacktop experience. Annie, who helped us, is a wonder with her knowledge & suggestions. I was on the hunt for a few shrubs too but the main thing was the tree. Karam Nursery had everything I was wanting! I walked away with my glorious tree & shrubs to be delivered & planted for me! Exactly what I wanted/needed. Really nice people and service. But 10 out of 11 plants we've bought here haven't survived. 8 of the plants were boxwoods. We hired them to deliver and plant them as well. One made it fine, the rest dried out and died. They claimed it was lack of water but the plants started turning yellow in April --right after a full 6 months of rainy winter weather and still far from hot weather. Also, all were watered through an automatic irrigation system, and the one that survived didn't get any more water than the others. Two independent gardeners without any skin in the game said it probably was blight, and that the plants brought it with them. One of them said that they were planted very poorly, with their roots too exposed. Pictures of how the plants went from having a bit of yellow in April, to being totally dry 2 months later. See also the contrast with the one that made it. We called and ask for either a refund or partial refund but got denied. We then asked if they could at least remove them (since we had paid $400 to plant them 6 months earlier) and they said no to that as well. It's a pity because we thought we had find our preferred nursery for the many projects we have in our home, but we won't be going back to Karam. read more

Me and my partner stopped in to look around. Not a single person welcomed us into the nursery, nor was anyone available to answer questions. They sighed when we even talked to them. Unfortunately our car died, and usually people are so awesome and quick to help, but it was the complete opposite. We asked if they had a vehicle they could use to help us and they told us no. We asked if they knew who was driving the truck parked next to us and they all around refused to help. There was a man that was actually rude, and told us we'd have to figure it out ourselves. I mean like that makes sense, but wow, were these employees mean!! I will not be returning and I do not recommend going here if you expect friendly employees and good customer service. read more

Not only does this nursery have pretty much everything you are looking for and if not they will try and get it , but I can honestly say the Karams have become our good friends over the years and are wonderful people! They are kind and warm and welcoming and Esa put the most gorgeous stream in that feeds in to our existing pond! He has done Oregon Street Of Dreams jobs so YES he's that good! I just found this nursery recently and have visited twice now. The owner Annie is super nice, very knowledgeable and patient. She helped us pick out landscaping plants for a large area and even designed where to put the plants for us. I really appreciate her extra help and free advice - it makes this process so much easier for us as we are by no means experts at this stuff. I would highly recommend this nursery and we will be back in the spring for round two of our remaining landscape project. Great place & great selection. read more

We visited Karam nursery today and enjoyed looking around at the hundreds of trees and shrubs that were offered, with most having a sale price of 50%. The proprietors were not as friendly as mentioned in other reviews, especially the man; in fact he seemed downright grumpy. We neither got a 'hello' or 'thanks for coming'. We would have bought a large evergreen but after inquiring about the cost of delivery, (up to NE Glisan st.), and were told $120 which would have been twice as much as the tree would have cost, we refused. I told the lady that was just too much especially as this was to be a 9 foot cedar only. Apparently they don't transport themselves but use a local service. We came away disappointed and will look elsewhere. Selection was very good, but customer service was poor. read more

This is about Karam Farm and Garden which is part of Karam nursury. Owned by the same family and located on Hatten Road in close proximity to Karam Nursery. Buyer beware!!!!!! The owner of this farm (at least he told us he was), was VERY rude and disrespectful to us. We got the distinct feeling it was because we were women. We ended up leaving with out buying the 4 buckets of tomatoes we already picked ourselves and will NOT EVER go back there. There was minus ZERO customer service from this person. There are enough other farms in the Portland area that there is no reason to be treated in such a negative way. We will take our business elsewhere! P.S. The tomatoes were in in terrible condition and very high in price for a u-pick. Vegetable rows were not organized, cared for, or documented the way you typically find on a u-pick farm. read more

I drive from the opposite of the Portland area (45 min), past multiple nurseries, for Karam. 6 acres to explore, an hour isn't even close for seeing it all. Wide ranging selection with a lot of unique centerpiece plants. Many nurseries have few mature plants and those are expensive. Karams stock seems at least 60% mature plants. Great for those of us who don't want to wait a decade. If you time it right, their sale prices are unbeatable. The family that owns/runs Karam are friendly, engaging, and helpful. Off the main paths the trails can get a little swampy. But that's where I've found some real show stoppers. So bring some work shoes and check them out. read more

I was four years old when my grandparents who actually own the nursery took me to the Street Of Dreams here in Oregon City. Right then and their I noticed how good my grandparents work to make properties beautiful and breathtaking. Anyway, they work very hard to be the best they can be and I am not just saying this because my family runs it, but it is true. In fact, my parents wanted to landscape their yard and they did it for us and it was amazing. Yes, I know you are not going to believe me because yes I am a fifteen year old kid, but trust me I know how to cratic a business because of many family business we own. we found this nursery by accident when we were driving to a local farm to purchase yummy raw milk. anyway, they have a sign that says wholesale to the public, and since cheaper pricing is always enticing we stopped by. we were happy we did. we left with two cute little 6-way espaliered pear trees (ie a different variety on each branch), blueberry bushes, grapevine and a beautiful asian pear tree! great prices, nice staff and our trees are doing well over a year later. read more
