Last year, Kara helped our family sell our house in San Francisco. It had been in our family for 64 years. She made it very easy for us to sell it from start to finish. She met with us to find out our needs. With years of old furniture and household items left behind, her team cleared out the rest of the house. They refinished the hardwood floors, painted the interior, power washed the exterior of the house, and spruced up the back yard. After staging the house, it sold in the first weekend at a price we were more than happy with. We highly recommend Kara Okamoto for her professionalism and great customer service. read more

Kara was my realtor for my recent condo purchase in San Francisco. As a first time home owner, Kara was patient, resourceful and professional. She is very hard working -- we physically viewed 10+ listings in roughly 1 week time. She's responds to texts/emails promptly, is always on time (actually before time mostly) and gives valuable advice from her several years of realtor+city experience. With her promptness and decisiveness, I was able to find and buy what I was looking for within 2 weeks. Even during the 30-day closing schedule period, she communicated everything I needed to know and continued giving me advice. Overall, I am very happy with Kara and I would strongly recommend her for her professionalism, dependability and experience, especially for first time buyers. read more

Kara is really amazing. She represented us in selling our house in SF in the middle of this pandemic. We had to be away caring for family and she took care of everything in a truly professional way. We could not be any happier. You could not find any truer professional. She kept us informed and kept us on track. She was able to do so much for us that our situation precluded us from doing for ourselves. We never worried about contact--she was prompt and complete in all communications. On top of all that....I don't know how you'd ever find a nicer person to work with. read more

Let me start by saying I would highly recommend Kara for any of your real estate needs. She is highly experienced, professional, very responsive, fast and knows how to execute. Her background and network in the industry is extensive. Stating the obvious - but when dealing with multi-millions in assets it's important to trust and like who you are working with and we love working with her!!! read more

I'm very fortunate to have worked with Kara in purchasing a home during this pandemic. I have worked with other realtors in the past, but in the context of making a huge financial decision in a time of economic uncertainty, Kara's professionalism and experience (over 10 years!) has proven to be invaluable to me. She has gone above and beyond to be accommodating, accessible, and responsive. I genuinely believe she has my best interests in mind. She helped me find a place that checked the boxes that I needed, ensured that the process fit my tight timeline, set me up with a good team (I'm very pleased with my broker btw), and tied up any loose ends that I didn't even see coming. If you are looking for a solid, dependable, professional, experienced, proactive, and personable realtor, this is the one. read more

Kara Okamoto represented me as a buyer in San Francisco in 2017, where we were ultimately successful purchasing a condo in Hayes Valley. I think the highest praise that a buyer can give about their agent is that they would seek their services again when it comes time to sell. I can say without a doubt that when I sell my condo that Kara will be the first - and hopefully only - agent I talk to. Being a first time home buyer in the tough San Francisco market was overwhelming to say the least. There were many parts of the process that were - quite frankly - terrifying. But Kara served as my compass throughout the journey. I'm not sure how I would have coped without her guiding the way. When I was initially choosing which agent to represent me, the most important quality I was looking for was integrity. I did my research and heard horror stories about agents who didn't exactly value their client's best interests (there is a financial incentive for agents to close as many deals as possible, even if those deals aren't in their client's best interests). I wanted an agent I could trust to represent me: I wanted my agent to be my ally and someone I wouldn't have to second guess. Kara doesn't work for a large real estate company. Instead, Kara is effectively self-employed and working for a small family owned business (which happens to carry her family's name - she's a third generation real estate agent in San Francisco). The success of that small business is based on reputation and positive experiences. And Kara is a pillar of excellence supporting that small business. To give an example of Kara's integrity, on multiple occasions I was leaning towards making an offer and Kara effectively talked me out of it. She could have said nothing and possibly moved on to another client sooner. But she knew what I was looking for and she wasn't afraid to deliver a contrarian viewpoint that she knew was in my - not her - best interest. These episodes reaffirmed my trust in Kara. (And having interacted with dozens of listing agents in my search, I got the feeling that a good portion of them wouldn't do something similar for their clients.) Kara's communication skills and responsiveness are terrific. I didn't think I'd be exchanging so many phone calls, emails, and text messages with my agent throughout this whole process. But I did. At times, I thought Kara was a robot because she seemed to always reply so quickly! And when it came time to close, Kara switched into another gear. We closed in December with the chaos of the holidays all around us. It seemed like everyone was traveling and busy with random commitments. Yet Kara didn't miss a beat: we closed right on schedule and Kara made it all as painless as I can imagine it being. (But I know she was working hard behind the scenes.) If given the chance, I would work with Kara again in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a real estate agent in the Bay Area, I can't recommend Kara enough. read more

The family and I have worked with Kara twice in the last 6 yrs. She helped us purchase our starter home in the SF! Everyone and anyone will tell you that purchasing your first home is one of the most stressful times in your lives. With such a huge purchase you have to be able to fully trust your realtor and that's how we felt about Kara. We put 100% of our trust in Kara and she delivered! 6 years later, with a new baby, we were ready to sell our home in SF and move to the East Bay for a more suburban life! We made a simple phone call to her and 2 months later...we sold our house and moving into to our new home! The transaction was fast, smooth, and stress free because of Kara. She is always professional, answers our phone calls/text ASAP, and is always on top of things. If you are looking to sell or purchase...you need to call Kara! She will get you into your dream home! read more

I can't recommend Kara enough -- if you need a real estate agent, you need Kara! In addition to knowing the SF/Bay Area market like the back of her hand, she's is super easy to work with, very responsive, and extremely patient -- especially with a first-time buyer like myself. Throughout the search process, Kara went above and beyond, working on short notice, over the weekend, and late into the night on several occasions, to get us showings, gather comps, and work with agents on the other side to answer any and all of our questions. And when it came to make an offer on a place that we loved, Kara helped us put together a great package, and worked with the sellers' agents to make it happen (over Thanksgiving, no less!). We're so happy with our new condo, and we are incredibly grateful to Kara. We couldn't have done it without her! read more

There is no review I feel stronger about giving a 5 stars than this... And you can look at my reviews, I've done quite a bit! Kara is amazing to work with. She's someone you can go to with probably the biggest purchase you'll ever make in your life, and make the experience a wonderful experience. She's attentive, quick to respond to texts/calls, goes out of her way to make sure you're comfortable with your choices before purchasing the home... she answered the MILLIONS of questions and texts that I sent her way without delay. And to be honest, I'm so OCD about everything and want answers to everything the minute I ask for it. I even had issues with a house I was looking for with a previous tenant and I didn't know the legal laws and she was kind enough to let me talk to a lawyer (for FREE) while they walked me through everything. I'll send her docs I don't understand about the mortgage terms and she's just so attentive. I've worked with 5 different real estate agents over the course of 5 years and she goes over and above the call of duty. It's expected that the agents show you a place, it's expected that the agent pulls comps for you in the area, it's expected that they should be attentive to all your needs because, hey! they make a nice commission right??? I've had to deal with agents that I feel like I'm bothering them every time I call... or they're on the phone while we're looking at the open house... Kara is everything BUT that... she's everything you want in an agent, knowledgeable, friendly, patient, candid, and just a delight to work with. I already know when the time comes she'll be the one to sell my house and help me buy my next one... and she's already that one business card I pass out to any of my friends who are looking for an agent. She's the epitome of what genuine customer service & the best real estate agent I know. read more

We had the pleasure of working with Kara this past April. She was diligent, timely and always available. The real estate business is booming and it's hard to find a realtor that isn't in it for the quick turnaround. She made sure the house was perfect, had a good team and got the house on the market right away. Whatever time we texted or called or even emailed she was right there with a quick response. Truly a full service Realtor. Highly recommended. Thanks Kara! read more

Kara Okamoto is so efficient and resourceful. She helped my son and me to purchase our dream property in two months! We are so thankful to have had Kara Okamoto as our realtor in our recent home purchase. She is a professional in all real estate matters, patient in answering all our questions, and courteous in responding even on weekends and evenings. We know there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes, but our purchase was very simple and pain free as Kara coordinated everything from start to finish. She explained everything clearly so that even I could understand the different processes. Most importantly, I know she had our interest as her number one priority Thanks Kara Gary read more

I honestly cannot say enough good things about having Kara as our realtor. My fiance and i just purchased our first home with Kara's help and it could not have been any easier. Kara was completely honest and upfront about every step of the home buying process and assured that we understood everything that was going on. She even drove from San Francisco all the way to Fairfield on multiple occasions so we could view our future home. Once we were in contract she scheduled all the inspections and made sure the ball stayed rolling in the right direction until we got the keys. Kara frequently gave us updates every step of the way during escrow and made the process pain free. If you are looking for an honest and truly professional realtor, look no further! I promise you will not be disappointed! read more

Kara recently helped our family to find a single-family house in San Francisco. We got to know her through recommendation from our friend who purchased a property through Kara in the Bay Area a few years ago. Kara was our buyer's agent. She really knows the ins and outs of the real estate market in San Francisco and the Bay Area. With her tremendous help, we were able to quickly identity a perfect place that fits our family's need and budget. As a first-time homebuyer, we had numerous questions and concerns about the process. Kara works relentlessly for us and is always so responsive and honest that we will take her advice without any second guessing. In addition, Kara always keeps us in loop with every single step in the buying and selling process. She strives to make sure there are no loose ends in the process (including working diligently with our loan officer agent). She has done a miraculous job that has made our very first bid a success. After we have owned the property, she is also always there to answer our questions regarding making home improvement. She seems to know everyone in the field that can help us with new design and construction of our house. Based on Kara's breath of knowledge and skillset and our very positive experience above, we have concluded that Kara is a first-rate real estate agent whom we would recommend without any reservations. We will definite ask her for help in the future with any real estate action! read more

I live in Sacramento and was referred to Kara by a real estate agent who attends the same church I do. My wife and I wanted to sell my mother in law's house but wasn't sure if there would be a net gain due to large amount she owed on the property. Kara met us at the house and although we were a little leery about it be worth the trouble of trying to sell, she seemed very confident it would be worth the try. There were other obstacles we'd have to overcome but she encouraged us throughout. Prior to listing the house for sale, Kara already had potential buyers in place. A few days later, one made an offer for more than what we planned to sell it for. We've been truly blessed and so grateful to have been directed to Kara. She was always so pleasant, kind, encouraging and knew what she was doing with confidence. The house closed escrow in 25 days and we're going to miss the day by day contact we had with Kara. However, we now consider her a friend and not just a business contact. We will refer her to everyone we know wishing to buy or sell property. Thank you so very much, Kara! read more

I cannot say enough about the superior service we received from Kara. We had an extremely unique situation that required sensitivity to the circumstances, but also tenacity in getting the home sold as quickly as possible. Kara delivered. I was more than 2000 miles away and she was in daily contact with me on the status of things. Even after the home sold, Kara continued to stay in touch to ensure that we made the transition without any issues. I am grateful we found here and also grateful for the honest review by other clients of her skills and strengths. read more

We highly recommend Kara Okamoto as your next real estate agent. Kara helped us sell our house in South San Francisco and buy a new one in San Francisco. She went above and beyond what we were expecting. Her knowledge and expertise of both markets were impeccable. Kara helped us through the entire process of selling and buying our home from the home inspections all the way through the financing. Kara represents the true meaning of professionalism. We would not hesitate to use her again and we recommend her to all of our friends. read more

My partner and I just bought our very first townhouse about a month ago and I must say...Kara was AMAZING throughout the entire process!!! Being first time home buyers, we had lots of questions and were very new to the market. Kara was patient, very thorough and she was there for us literally every step of the way in the homebuying process (we viewed at least 10 homes within 2 weeks and she came with us to each one!). There were so many documents, new terms and other things that I personally did not understand and she was kind enough to explain them all to me during the buying process. On top of that, Kara was so on top of her communication, if you asked something from her, you'd hear back from her within the first 5-10 minutes, if not, at least 30 minutes! Now that's great customer service! Overall, I'd highly recommend Kara to anyone who is new to home buying or even if you've purchased a home before. Kara is professional, kind and gets it done for you. read more

I was hesitant to attempt purchasing my first home in the Bay Area after hearing how competitive the market was. I'm still in shock that the first home that I made an offer with Kara's guidance was the first home I ended up buying! From that experience, it truly was a competitive process with multiple offers. Kara did an amazing job walking me through the process every step of the way including post purchase. I know I wouldn't be sitting in my dream home without Kara working relentlessly behind the scenes. It was very obvious that she was well respected by her peers which made this purchase as seamless as possible. Kara will always be my go to for future home purchases, this is coming from a person with a commercial real estate background. read more

Ok, posting the 1 star was to get your attention. Make no mistake, Kara Okamoto is second to none. I just completed my 3rd property transaction with Kara. Her expertise has represented me in 3 different regions of the Bay Area-San Francisco, East Bay, and Marin. She is resourceful, knowledgeable, dependable, and an honest representative who will help guide you through any one of your life's biggest transactions. However, if you want an honest assessment, a sound game plan to attain your goals, and someone who is accessible and will help you execute to that end, then you need not look any further. Kara is a consummate professional. Her amazing resourcefulness and no nonsense approach simply gets results. I will not hesitate to enlist her help on my next property acquisition or sale.
