Its hard to find honest mechanics now and days but this guy is a straight shooter. I've been here twice for a different things and every time he's done some excellent work with reasonable rates. His work is 5 stars but his people skills are like a 2 lol Customer service could be better. The owner is loud and kinda rude but I think it's more of a culture thing. He has a heavy accent and is direct straight to the point. If your looking for someone to kiss your butt with great customer service this is not the place for you. However, he will diagnose and fix your car and quote you a lower price than most other shops. He's fast and efficient. I would recommend this shop to anyone. He hasn't done me wrong yet. read more

If you're a woman, DO NOT give this guy any business. I just gave away my money to a egoistic little Asian man. Up front I asked him if he was able to fix my car if it didn't pass, he quickly said he could and took my keys. After it was checked, I was told it didn't pass and started yelling at me as to when I bought the car and started saying some random things. As a mechanic, he should be able to answer my basic questions but instead started yelling and went around the questions then rudely asked me to pay. I called with questions regarding smog repair. The guy who answered the phone was so RUDE. He told me the car would be there for 1 week and during that time they would drive it around before they smog the car and if it fails, I would then take it home and drive it until it passes. Then he says ok that's it, bye and hangs up while I was asking a question. Why in the world would I take my car in for a repair to have it not pass smog, pay them, then bring it home to still have the same issue? I called back and asked if he was the owner? He stated he was not the owner, just a worker. I told him how rude he was and that the owner should know that is how he is conducting business. Told my dad to come here since it was close to his home and just needed a smog. It didn't pass so he told my dad to run it around town. My dad came back 21/2 weeks later after doing just that he said the same. I went back with my dad the next dad and right off the bat he was very rude to me and was irritated with my questing. Went to Kar Tech as recommended by someone and I was very satisfied with their service. They are a small shop with two employees and it was great that there was a nail salon attached because it works for women who have to wait a couple of hours for their car to get fixed. When we went in, the owner asked us what we were thinking was wrong, he explained problems that could result if we waited longer, he took the car for a drive to hear what was going on and then let us know honestly what we needed to fix, how long it would possibly take and the estimated cost. The car now sounds great, we got all the belts fixed and we got a couple other little loose things fixed and it was all under the price he estimated which was even better. He is very honest and I definitely believe that they know what they are doing here. If you are looking for someone who is going to give you a good price for the problem you are experiencing, this is the place to go. read more

If you want small talk, this isn't the place for you. If you want an experienced mechanic that knows his stuff and will not overcharge you, this is the place for you. My BMW overheated and I took it to the BMW dealer. They charged $120 to tell me the water pump was out and they wanted another $1100 to replace it. I took it to Kar Tech and Tom did it for a little over $800. The water pump itself was almost $600. I have taken my other vehicles in for repairs also and he has always done a great job. We bought a car from tom at Kar Tech and a month afterwords it fell apart. He said he had just smogged it and had changed the oil.... It had newer tires on it and when my wife drove it it ran fine. after about 2 weeks we needed to replace the alternator and the battery. then a couple of weeks after that it stopped running.... found out after spending about $200 it needs a new engine witch would cost over$5000. we originally paid $2800 for the car he now said he will give us back $1800 if we tow it back to him.......
