Gabriel and his crew completed a job for me over a year ago...but they never actually completed it…read more In fact, I wrote another review about halfway through the project on his old landscaping site, Compass Landscaping and have filed a civil case, despite NUMEROUS requests to resolve the small, but expensive, remaining issues. Gabriel's crew is wonderful and hard working. They did a great job on the hardscaping, though there are still issues with drainage on a patio. Gabriel left my parents and myself hanging. There was an entire corner of the lawn that they never returned to sod, several of the large expensive plants we bought got sick during warrantee and Gabriel did not extend the courtesy of getting back in touch with us to replace them, and the same thing happened with a large red oak, which is now dying. The watering system was not maintainer or properly set up, corners were cut and the lack of communication surrounding something that is EASILY remedied is the most frustrating part. I have written and called no less than ten times, but it appears he is too busy to finalize a $120,000+ project that he said he would over a year ago.

I looked everywhere for an arborist and came across Second Generation in various social media groups. After further research and cross-referencing, I decided to give them a call for an estimate. Meagan came out to assess what needed to be done and, after discussing the details of how they approach problems, take precautions to prevent damage and disease, meticulously clean up after themselves, etc., I hired Second Arborist to take care of our problem trees, a total of seven, and lift the canopy to allow more sunlight to reach our flower beds and lawn, and give everything a nice refresh. Her small team of professionals even ensured we were completely satisfied with their results before leaving. We couldn't be happier with outcome. Next time, before of calling on someone with free time and a chainsaw (as we have also done in the past!), give Second Arborist a call. They'll do a great job at a very reasonable cost!

I can tell they're really busy with all their projects but, even with a slight delay, it was worth the wait. He had gone a few times to get some feedback on a project he'd been planning and the female employee at the front desk was very helpful with giving suggestions and tips. When I went up a couple of weeks ago I was able to see the selection and we were able to speak to Jerry who showed us specific stones, their names, sizing and an estimate in pricing on the spot. There was another younger gentleman who saw us walking around and asked if we needed assistance later on. My husband had engaged with him in a convo before and joked around with him. We walked around and saw different sizes and colors and we ended up talking to a gentleman who was shoveling some finer rocks into some buckets that he had in his SUV. He was telling us about his project at his new home and showed the ideas from his query on ChatGPT!! Wow! That gave us an idea to try and upload ideas for our space using ChatGPT when I got home. It looked fabulous, gave some design suggestions and tidied up the space even though we didn't use the exact stone nor landscaping. We ended up buying some stones from here and some other plastic landscaping materials with stakes. There are tractors that will also load the rocks/mulch into your truck bed. I recommend this business based on the customer service, variety and pricing. They help DIYers like us! Support local!!

Reached out to a few companies and Al's quote turned out to be the lowest of the three I received. He was very thorough in detailing his suggestions for us and we eventually decided to zero-scape the front lawn. He gave us options to choose from, explained what has worked best for him in the past. He took out our existing bushes by our front windows, ensuring he got most, if not all of the roots so they wouldn't be an issue moving forward, planted 4-5 yucca plants, put granite rock down to cover the yard and our curb with a barrier around the whole area. We also went with a two-foot-wide extension from the side of our driveway that has 2" pavers and crushed granite so I could better get out of my vehicle since I have mobility issues. We also had him trim our huge Ash tree in the front since it needed it badly. Al was very professional, kept us in the loop on all decisions and got the job done quickly. His attention detail is OUTSTANDING! I would 100% recommend him for any of your landscaping projects, big or small. Our front yard looks great and now we don't have to mow it ever again!! :-)
