So here's the deal, Kanuga is a series of different camps and facilities, but they are all AWESOME! Kanuga is a faith-based (Episcopalian) retreat center. It sits on 1400 acres and there are trails and paths and a lake and cabins and community buildings. It isn't fancy and that's part of its charm. Each cabin is a little bit different (number of bedrooms/bathrooms/type of porch) but all feature twin beds. The community dining room (where you're called to meals by a recorded bugle) has healthy nutritious food, with Southern flair. The staff is super accommodating to folks with special needs, like allergies or food intolerances. All meals were served buffet style when I was there. I've attended both conferences and now, the summer guest period at Kanuga. Honestly, I can't wait to go back. From the meals, to the adult arts & crafts, to the downtime (with room for hikes and/or naps), to the fabulous staff, this was seriously the most relaxing vacation I've ever had.

Beautiful Views and great customer service. Food was hot and had a great selection. Loved the tennis / pickle ball courts.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The boys cabin is extremely uncomfortable because there is no A/C…read morewhile the girls had A/C the whole time. There was mildew or mold (black spots) on the mattresses which were extremely thin. There is no way to lock bathroom stall or shower doors because there were no doors, only flimsy curtains that wouldn't close all the way so anyone could look through the cracks. On the other hand, the girls bathrooms had doors that locked giving them privacy, plus walls dividing their bunks, making their stay much nicer. The cafeteria was dirty. You could tell that other than sweeping up food under the tables after meals, the floors were never cleaned. There was dirt all over the place. So I guess if you're a girl then maybe you'd be fine. If you're a boy then STAY AWAY!

A church (body of members) where God is honored and glorified through Jesus Christ His Son, as well…read moreas His Word, the Holy Bible! Pastor Ken Mason teaches and preaches verse by verse studies of the scriptures that center and point to Christ. Studies that may leave you battered and scraped. There is no one righteous enough to save themselves and salvation through Jesus Christ alone is always addressed at this spiritual training ground. Worship of the LORD, Biblical understanding and training to take the Gospel outside the doors are elements of THIS house of God. A place to call home and to feel at home. But don't expect sins to be disregarded at the expense of God being honored to make you feel comfortable. Other than that, Brothers and Sisters in Jesus are welcome and if you are lost, come in with open ears and open heart and you will hear and experience God's worship, love and instruction and will be able to leave knowing you now have the knowledge of Salvation through Jesus Christ the Messiah!
