My wife and I decided to stop by the casino and stay two night as we got comped rooms from the Hampton Inn and we wanted to visit Tanganyika Park. I do not know if I had beginners luck coming to casino, but this casino left a great impression on me. I like they have all sorts of games ranging from low to high volatile machines and I was able to gain at least 5000 tier points. I had a great first night with three handpays. The next day was not so lucky as I gave them back 2K. The following day I left with another 2 handpays. They do a 5% tax however on jackpots which is a bummer, but I guess most states do. They have a smoking and non-smoking session. Their food court is in the middle of the casino floor, but it might be an issue if they have kids as I am not so sure they can enter the casino to eat there and the main places to eat for dining. The casino is located out of the big city, but just 20 minutes away from Wichita and was able to go to the Tanganyika Park. The other good news is no homeless people come here, but you experience this usually in downtown or in Biloxi. They have plenty of drink stations as I usually get a drink. Handpays do not take a long time as most Boyd casinos and they are usually fast. Usually, I would tip, but Kansas state tax takes 5%. I really love this casino and the selection they have. I would definitely come back. I probably will not get 5 handpays this go around like I did, but I lasted at the casino. read more

Waited an HOUR in the bar line that was being ran by one person. Needs more staff or a better system for sure. Unacceptable at peak hours

We had such a great time at this casino. It is so clean, comfortable and has such friendly dealers. They don't have the smoke smells and the machines are not overly loud, so it's not as over-stimulating as some casinos can be, the volume level is pleasant. We played roulette for hours then crawled into our RV parked in the parking lot and got a good night's rest. RV parking was great, there were a couple other RVs, well lit lot and security driving around. read more

Came out with a little extra money. . Machines are not as noisy as some other Casinos, which made it comfortable for me. Here's the thing, I think you're either going to love or hate a casino based on your financial performance and as you may guess by my glowing five-star review, I did okay! We were in town for a wedding and staying at the Hampton Inn next door, which meant the Kansas Star Casino was sure to benefit from at least a few of our degenerate gambling group. I'm happy to say that I was not one of the big contributors to the Kansas Star Casino light bill last weekend but I have no doubt that they'll be fine based on more than a handful of interactions that I witnessed from losers at the blackjack tables. You'll notice right off the bat that the casino is small, a far cry from anything grandiose in Vegas, but significant for a small town like Wichita. My focus was on craps and also the sportsbook for the few days that I was there. While I only ended up netting about $100 on the craps table, the sportsbook brought in a cool couple thousand on some very modest bets. That's me, here is a more general list of bullet points. - Tin Lizard is the place to hang out with good food, and a pleasant bar staff - The center bar is nice for cocktails, but you won't find food there - The tables have very modest limits, okay for almost any gambler - The high limit room is dotted with some popular machines that are sure to hook the deep pockets - The steakhouse is dimly lit and well stocked with some decent wine. The prices are also very affordable, for a steakhouse. - The sportsbook is run by Fan Duel and has kiosks to easily built parlays - Easy access to the hotel next door Will I be back? If you're considering going to this casino of course to gamble, consider yourself BIG broke when you leave!! Within two hours, I lost $2300 and it was not because I was over spending. It's just an absolutely extremely tight slotted Casino and I must say the card tables are not any better!!! Believe me when I say, go a few more miles down the road to Oklahoma and the small casinos there will treat you much much better!! Not to mention if you are a Boyds reward member you don't get much of a discount, if any, at the Hampton Inn that is attached to it. and their hotel entry into the casino is closed until sometime late February. Need to let people win I have only won small amounts my highest I got after playing for hours is 300 but spent all most that to get it so really only won about 75 bucks the machines take forever to give u a bonus and when I finally did get a bonus of 15 spins I won 12 dollars when people get a bonus we really expect to will on it . Food court has several options but the food isn't very well seasoned. This is my first casino so don't have a lot to compare to but it's clean and accessible. Not too crowded. The smoking and non smoking areas don't have any real separation (I.e doors or walls) so the non smoking pretty much becomes the smoking area too. me and my Family are Patrons of this Casino when we travel through here a few times a year and stay at the Hotel there. We have always enjoyed ourselves until this time. This happened yesterday 5/19/2024. two of the Rudest People I have ever met! One Manager was named Erica at the Roulette Tables and the other Managers name was Jonna or Donna, I couldn't see the first letter of His or Her name badge. We have always played table games and then went back to our room and came back to play or just cash in our chips the next day. Not this time!! They were saying that they would only honor $1 per chip instead of the $5 we paid for each one! over $100 worth of chips! no Thanks, Right!? They also tried to say that we were not permitted to leave their Casino until we had given them their chips back at $1 per chip!!! It's beautiful out here and they've done a great job with it. As soon as we walked in, the strong cigarette odor was so overwhelming that I felt dizzy. Forgot they still allow indoor smoking.. Lots of machines were on and a lot of people too. It's July 4th long weekend and it was Friday night. There are 4 restaurants: Tin Lizzy, a Vietnamese pho, deli and steakhouse. We didn't try any as we had dinner prior going to the casino. There was 2 self serve beverages stations near the restrooms. New player has a $5 bonus after a $10 play. Get your new membership at B connected, a blue neon sign. It's not Vegas but good for a quick 10 minutes stop if you're near Wichita. There isn't much else going on with limited food options in Mulvane. read more

I am impressed with the effort they have made in having what feels like a smoke free environment even though there are smokers. I really appreciate that! ( I have allergies) The slots are changed frequently. A card room recently opened up on the East side. The old one closed. While we play, we all guess what kind of restaurant is opening in the old spot! The Shark bar is gone, as is the photo place, but you can order at the bar by the buffet to get pizza and burgers. Been going for awhile as it's the closest casino for us. Used to be fun. At one time they would announce the winners frequently. Bout once or twice every 30 minutes. Or more often. Lately it seems those odds have gone way down. Only announcing maybe once an hour. In everytime I've been we've lost everything instantly. First time here. Also, last time. Wouldn't let us take our 20 year old nephew into the restaurant, which is fine, we are rule followers. Took him back up to the room which was marginal, and walked back down to get "take out" from the tin lizard. The bartender apparently is in charge of the take out orders. We had been riding bikes all day and we were really hungry. Everything we ordered was wrong. Everything we ordered was subpar; except the burger, which was ok. Expensive as heck and just ok. Of course we were already all the way back in the room When we discovered the orders were completely wrong ‍. We decided to look around while they made the food. The casino itself is ok but all of the games are old. Now we know where old slot machines go to die. We didn't waste our time. Visited this evening with about 10 friends who dropped quite a bit of cash, only to have 3 security guards zero in on one person in the group who did absolutely nothing wrong. The guards were rude and obnoxious when asked why the person was singled out from the group. The group left and would not recommend anyone visit as they single out and profile.
