From the owner: We Make Learning Fun…read more The Children's Corner, with over 35 years experience, provides the Kankakee, Bradley, and Bourbonnais areas with a preschool designed to provide every child with a rewarding learning experience. Our intentions are to strengthen each child's developmental skills to the best of his/her potential. Socially, we recognize the value of teaching children to live cooperatively with others, to gain a sense of responsibility, and to develop a feeling of self-worth. Our programs include preschool, extended care, and field trips. Typically, our session begins with circle time activities in each of our two classrooms. At this time children sing hello, talk about the calendar and weather, learn songs, and share news with each other. The teacher introduces the thematic unit being presented that day and the learning choices being offered in each area of interest. The day includes choices in language development and small motor activities, a large motor game, arts and crafts, dramatic play, music and story time, and snack. Our program offers a whole language unit approach to learning.
