For breakfast, my husband and I split a delicious smoked salmon and egg sandwich and shared some pastries. He loves any custard filled pastry and enjoyed that. The staff's English was limited, and our German was limited, but we managed to place our orders and pay with no problems. The bakery is small but has several places to sit with comfortable tables and chairs and a beautiful view of the streets of Köln.

I love that cakes here aren't cakes like back home which is iced and sugar high (there are times when that works and other times when it doesn't) I prefer the German idea of cakes always! I'll be back tomorrow for an espresso :)
