Jungle Jim's has been there for most of the last two decades, and in that time it has built up a very loyal following. It's success is probably based on two reasons: 1. The food is tasty; and 2. There aren't many fish and chip shops in the immediate area (which doesn't matter when you consider point #1). Jungle Jim's is one of those places where when you ask for $3 worth of chips, you don't walk away wondering where the other $2 worth of chips went. Oh, a tip: It is very busy of a weekend, so you'll want to phone your booking in. Prices are pretty normal for a fish and chip shop, but the quality of the food makes it a good deal.

The result is a crunchy outer layer filled with soft fluffy potato. Jungle Jim's have everything you'd expect from a good fish and chip shop. The flake in particular, is fresh and flavoursome and cooked in such a way that the flesh is juicy and soft, whilst still leaving the batter crisp. Over the years they have changed hands a few times, but have managed to keep the quality the same.

My wife loves the fish here. I'm not much for seafood, but I can tell you that the potato cakes are very good too. Generally nice and crispy. The service is alright. Friendly, doesn't make mistakes (at least not with my orders, and there's been lots of them), and plenty of locals get their dinner here, which is always a pretty good indication of a successful eatery.
