Do not book with this company NO MATTER WHAT. There are other companies at the terminal. Kamil Koç cancelled my bus to Goreme with zero notice. I would've planned accordingly to not miss my travel plans in Cappadocia and rebook or take an earlier bus. But they did not send me anything, no email phone or indication on the app. I got to the station 30 mins before and the agent told me it was at another terminal. I walked over and no one knew. Finally another agent found that it was cancelled. I wasn't given much help and had to find a new ticket and figure out what to do myself. Wasn't offered refund assistance and had to go online for customer service even though there were agents in person. read more

This company is a big scam. All people who work there are rude and not well mannered. I purchased a ticket for me on my birthday to go home from my little holiday trip in advance and arrived to the bus station 1 hour before. But my bus never came. Company workers first refused to communicate with me because I was a foreigner, but then told me that this bus doesn't exist at all. I went through my phone and checked my ticket, everything was correct. I showed them my ticket, they took my phone, ask for my phone number, and after 2 minutes I received the message "thank you, you just canceled your ride". Which I didn't approve or asked for it. After this they told me my bus was just canceled. And they suggested me to wait 5 hours until the next one. and it was late at night. I suppose that I was the only one who bought a ticket for that time and it was not useful for them to take only one person and they decided not to go at all. They never sent me any email or SMS about canceling, did you answer my requests, before this or after. Because of them I ended up in the street for the whole night and very unpleasant things happened to me. People who work there were my worst experience with turkish people in my whole life read more

Esperienza pessima.

We took a bus from Denizli to Goreme last August 27, 2023 (Sunday) and our bus left the terminal at 8:45 pm as we were expected to arrive at Goreme at 6:30 am for a total of 10 hours of land travel. They put numbers on our luggage and gave us claim tags once we got off the bus. On our way, past midnight, I was sleeping and the assistant bus Driver Mr. Mahmut Mithat pinched me on my shoulder asking if this was our luggage, he showed me a photo of the luggage from his phone and I said YES! That's our luggage. He doesn't know how to speak English that's why we exchanged conversations via Google translate, He said some of the commuters accidentally took your luggage and it would return to you in 2 days and I told him that they could send the luggage on the next trip going to Goreme because there's an hourly bus schedule trip going to Goreme. He just replied to me, I'll try my best and get back to you tomorrow ASAP. I didn't argue with him because it was useless and I was tired. How is that possible? When we first landed in Turkey, all buses were well organized, They put claim tags on each piece of luggage, and why did Mr Mahmut let the commuter take our luggage without checking the luggage claim tags? I suggested a possible solution for our luggage but I think there's no actions have been taken. He gave me his mobile number and Instagram account to stay in contact. We arrived in Goreme at 6:30 am and we didn't have any choice but to buy some clothes for the day. I contacted him and asked for any update on our luggage and he replied me it would be here at 12midnight, later on I asked for an update, again he said 6:30 am, and the next update, the bus had a problem and it would arrive the next day at 6:30 am. The big problem is we're leaving Goreme on Tuesday at 8:30 pm, We have a flight going back to Istanbul and our luggage will be here on Wednesday morning. We just told him to send our luggage back to Istanbul and we'll get it there. Our trip was ruined already, it made us spend more money on our trip! Thanks to KamilKoc! Even the guy assigned at the kamilKoc bus terminal in Goreme told us "I can't do anything about that, try to call customer service". We arrived back in Istanbul and went to their bus terminal which is 45 minutes away from our hotel and we took a taxi and paid 275lira. The Guy at the counter told us that their office would open at 12 and told him that we were just going to get our luggage, The luggage arrived at 1 in the morning and we were there past 10 am. But still, he didn't allow us and I told him via Google Translate, that we needed to catch our flight unless he wanted to shoulder the rebooking of our ticket. Finally, he allowed us and go upstairs and get our luggage. read more

Worst experience ever with a Turkish bus company! I wanted to travel from Eskeshehir to Istanbul but the trains were full, so i needed to go by bus. I have a small kitten with me so i asked the man at the ticket office of Kamel Koc if it was a problem to take her in the bus. The man said it was not a problem, so I bought a bus ticket. I arrived at the bus and took place at my seat. Suddenly the driver came to me and he said in a really angry way that the kitten needed to go in the bagagge room underneath the bus. I refused to do that because she is just a baby and she will move/fall in the bus and maybe she can't breath. All the staffmembers of Kamil Koc were really angry and they were talking/shouting in Turkish. When i wanted to get my money back, they refused. I don't accept the way that they treat their customers. I understand that there are rules, but they should not have lied that she can come with me in the bus in the first place, just to earn money. And the way they treated me was even worse. After this, I looked on the internet and I only found bad review about this company. I don't recommend it to anyone. read more

When they sell tickets they say the bus has wi-fi and TV, but in reality there's no internet nor TV, Alanya - Istanbul bus, August 14th, 2022, departure time 16.00. They also said the staff in the bus would understand English, well, they don't. Beware of the service, it's not good. read more

The staff members are very disrespectful and are hypocrite-like. They tell you that you cant eat certain things in the bus due to the fact that some people get annoyed by the smell of it and then they go themselves and start smoking when there are policies that say you can not smoke. And then when my dad confronted the staff member that was smoking, the staff member said that it was none of his business. This was the worst service I have ever been given in my life. I wish I could give 0 stars because it was so bad, however, I can't do that cause the site won't allow it. read more

Kamil Koc, no doubt, is one of the oldest travel companies here. And they're also one of the biggest. Which is probably why they presume they can get away with being jerks. Besides numerous second hand stories about employees being rude, uncommunicative, deliberately deceptive, trying to fleece tourists that I heard in my short stay in Turkey, I unfortunately ended up having a terrible first-hand experience with them as well. I lost all my money on an overnight bus from Denizli to Nevsehir (every single US dollar in my bag) and when I brought this to the attention of the ticket agent, asking him in so many words if he could tell me where the nearest police station was and what he suggests I do, his response was to yell at me because it offended him that I was insinuating his staff were thieves (I said no such thing) - "How dare you say bad things about my staff? if you can't take care of your money, it is not my fault. Do not call my staff thief. You can take the bus back to Denizli and report to the police there if you want". My grouse with them is not for not being able to help but for being the kind of business/culture who thinks it is okay to literally shout at a paying customer. I later heard from a fellow Turkish guest at the inn I was staying at - "It is nothing new. They know you're here for a short time and cannot follow up on a police investigation even if you manage to file a report." That makes complete sense and explains their behavior. read more

KamilKoc has a great reputation and founded 1926 it is one of Turkey's venerable bus travel companies. In my experience, however, there are severe dents in KamilKoc's reputation. When moving to Fethiye, Turkey I arrived with lots of luggage at Istanbul's Bayrampasa bus station. There I bought a ticket for 95 TL from KamilKoc's ticketing office. This was already quite a procedure because all customer service agents appeared to speak English worse than I spoke Turkish. Nonetheless, we got it settle and I ended up waiting in an overcrowded and noisy waiting hall. Interestingly, I made the acquaintance of a police man who was under cover hunting criminals in the ticketing office. Hmm, why would KamilKoc has so many problems with criminals? The big Mehhh came when I bored the bus with my luggage (1 suitcase and 8 bags.) The bus bus attendant wanted 30 TL extra. Why extra for luggage? The Nisikli bus travel company (http://nisikli.com.tr/) didn't charge me anything extra. Also, I showed the ticketing cleark my luggage and he was ok with it. So why did I have to pay to the bus attendant now? My feeling of being fleeced grow stronger when I offered to pay the 30 TL by credit card. Having just arrived in Turkey I had no cash yet. But the bus attendant insisted I had to pay cash or I cannot travel. Having no choice I had to go and find an ATM at the bus depot - that was risky because these where all ATMs from unknown companies. If my card was retained I could end up stuck in Turkey without any cash what so ever. Fortunately, the ATM withdrawal worked the bus attendant got this 30 TL which he put straight in his own valet. Yes, I was being fleeced and KamilKoc ticketing clerks did not care. Having read the article about an overnight bus travel on http://www.turkeysforlife.com/2012/06/fethiye-istanbul-turkish-intercity-bus.html I expected more food and comfort during the trip. I only got one small glass of water and later a tea and a cookie for dinner. Fortunately, the bus stopped often so I could enjoy the delightful Turkish cuisine and not starve before trying to get some sleep at the not so comfortable chairs. (Mercedes busses have better chairs). In summary, riding with KamilKoc is a decent way of traveling but because of the bad service and problems with my luggage it no longer deserves a high reputation. read more
