Entry to the museum involves parting with a few Euros, 6 or 8, but the value is outstanding. There is an elevated walkway from which you can view a magnificently restored and suspended Heinkel bomber, only 2 meters away, in full flight. Other exhibits are far too numerous to mention, but they range from one-of-a-kind aircraft to several fine examples of American-manufactured planes in Luftwaffe livery, a sight to behold for aviation fanatics like me.
There is no way to take in this museum in only a few hours, so plan on the better part of a day to enjoy it. The on-going restoration area is off-limits, for obvious reasons, but can be viewed from the elevated walkway. There is also a small coffee shop for snacks and a caffeine jolt, not that you will need one, after being energized by the exhibits.
A full inventory listing and description go exhibits can be found on the official website:www.deutsches-museum.de/flugwerft.
It's a little hard to find, and you must rely on your navigation unit or a local resident to help you find this unassuming building. However, once inside, it becomes world class.
If you are an aviation enthusiast, do not miss this museum while visiting Munich.
