I have been on the same medication, with one increase in dose, for 1 year and 3 months. He is currently on leave, and I have not had an appointment in some time. I submitted a routine refill 2 days ago and was informed today that Pacific Phoenix would not authorize my medication without a new appointment, with a new provider. I learned on the phone that I need to make an appointment every 9 months for authorization on my medication, and they waited until my prescription was almost out to bottle neck and prevent me from refilling. This was NEVER communicated prior. This is a medication that gives withdrawal when not taken, as a physiatrist office should be well aware of. If this process had been communicated and given ample notice in advance, that would have been fine, but now my health is jeopardized, and I will likely have to take time off work to deal with an oncoming preventable illness. It feels like an act of greed, and that they do not care about the wellbeing of their patients. Would NOT recommend.

Completely missed my autism, ADHD, and PTSD. My cortisol is abysmally low too.

I never thought about this until I read someone else's review but Laurie really is a wonderful listener with a calming presence. I've had a lot of stress in my life in the past from work and a car accident. Seeing Laurie improves my pain level and overall health. But I always leave Laurie's office much more relaxed and less stressed - I think in part it's her presence in addition to her skills as an acupuncturist. She takes care of muscle spasms, allerigies, insomnia, stress to just name a few. Like Teresa said, she will also offer suggestions for herbal remedies (even via email) and never pushes a sell which I've experienced before. My phone rang at 7:00pm and I was surprised to hear from him this evening after leaving a voicemail only a day ago. We were on the phone for 45 minutes, and in that time he asked me all about myself, my struggles with adhd symptoms, my past, and about his philosophy in therapy and medication..what type of approach he has for treatments. He listened carefully and intently to everything I said & he had such great and helpful things to say. He's not open for new patients, but he's looking for me and gave me a bunch of recommendations for amazing helpful books and websites. I was more than lucky to have been referred to Erik by a friend, and he has been nothing but a God-sent. Whether you are religious, gay, or atheist, Erik treats you with the most respect. He has treated all of my diagnoses with tender care. I have now seen Erik for over three years, and it has transformed my life. Erik makes me feel like I have a caring family member that I've never had. Erik builds relationships where you feel safe and gives hope that better days are to come. Erik takes the time to describe any medication you have questions about and will do his best to work with you. He has made me feel that my health is his priority. Before I met Erik, I was struggling with severe depression. Though I may have hypomanic episodes from time to time that causes depression, with his help, I can confidently say I was able to overcome the severity of it in 2020, along with alcoholism and other things.
