I came here today late afternoon and was so pleased that they extended their hours until 6pm! I sat down and did some work. The inside seating area is so cozy and clean. I can totally come and work here more often. Love the music they play. I tried their matcha madness smoothie but substituted the coconut milk with unsweetened milk and no almond butter. The rest comes with banana, dates, vanilla protein, spinach and flax seeds. I enjoyed it but didn't taste the matcha too much so next time I'll order it without banana since I think the banana and vanilla protein overpowers the matcha. I usually get their protein bowl which is to die for, so fresh and delicious. The service is so nice and friendly. The guys there were so nice and generous. Anyways, had a great time here. I'm a regular customer at Bearies Açaí in Topanga Mall, and I frequently purchase the student-size…read moreaçaí bowl. I've always been happy with the portions, especially the generous amount of fresh fruit they normally serve. Unfortunately, today's experience was extremely disappointing. When I arrived, the cashier was sitting down eating an açaí bowl before taking my order. When I received my bowl, I noticed it had only about 5-6 tiny pieces of banana, which was completely different from what I normally receive. When I politely questioned the portion, the employee insisted that this was the standard amount for a student-size bowl. I explained that I come here regularly and have always received much more fruit. I then asked to speak with the manager, who identified herself as Mashley, although I cannot confirm whether that was her actual name. Unfortunately, instead of addressing my concern professionally, she responded with a dismissive and rude attitude. She insisted that the banana portions had always been this small, completely disregarding my experience as a loyal customer. My issue isn't just about a few pieces of banana. It's about consistency, customer service, and how you treat people who regularly support your business. I wasn't asking for anything extra or free. I simply expected the same quality and portion size I've consistently received during my previous visits. What disappointed me the most was the manager's attitude. A manager should know how to listen to customers, address concerns respectfully, and handle situations professionally rather than making customers feel uncomfortable for speaking up. If portion sizes have changed, communicate that clearly instead of making regular customers feel like they're wrong for questioning it. I used to enjoy coming to this location, but after today's experience, I'm seriously reconsidering returning. I hope the owners of Bearies Açaí at Topanga Mall see this review and take customer service, management professionalism, and portion consistency more seriously. Loyal customers deserve respect, not attitude.
