My daily driver was involved in a total loss collision about a month ago and my insurance company kept trying to send me to five Enterprise branches that clearly had no incentive to help me. Kaizen was brought up by my adjustor and it was the right move. They were very quick with preparing a vehicle for me understanding how important it was to get me back on the road asap. They provided me with a brand new VW Taos SUV that was immaculate. They dropped it off on my doorstep in the same fashion I used to experience with National Car Rental's Emerald service. Their customer service people were very diligent and took on the burden of doing as much of the paperwork as possible to make the hand-off convenient and seamless for me. For a local business, their service is A1. It far exceeds their branded competitors. This business punches above its weight to provide the best service as possible. Drop-off was just as seamless and convenient--they did it at my workplace and I will always remember that if I am ever in need of a rental again, I will seek them out based upon this experience. If my family or friends were ever in need of a rental, I'd have no hesitation to point in them in the direction of Kaizen. read more

Used their car rental as a replacement car as my car was in for repairs. Decent experience. Got a two-year-old Ford Focus hatchback. The car was in pretty okay shape - some sounds coming at a certain speed but never broke down in the middle of the road. Heated seats were great in winters. With staff, there are a few issues. The person, who handed over the car, didn't do a proper paperwork. There were a few things missing for which we had to go to their office and get it all sorted out. The lady sitting at the desk isn't on her best behavior ever but she does her job pretty good. So, don't expect any goodies - but personally, I prefer to deal with people who do their jobs well and may behave rudely instead of someone behaving nice and screwing up the work. Also, I had asked them to let me know if an SUV is available then I would like to switch over to that. However, I never received any call - I can't imagine any SUV didn't free up in a three week period. I would still prefer Budget or Enterprise considering the overall experience. read more

Wish I could give this company a zero star rating. What a bunch of crooks. During your time of need (after an accident when you need a rental) they do act helpful, however once you've signed a contract things go downhill pretty fast. Let me explain: 1) The cars they have suck - they smell like smoke, have high kms, have body damage and are generally not in the greatest condition. When you complain they will try and switch the car out for you (and tell you its a complimentary service), but you will get another car delivered with the exact same issues. Beware though, all this 'friendly' service is going to cost you in the end. My first vehicle was not comparable to my personal vehicle that was involved in an accident, they ended up switching it out to a car that stunk of smoke. When I complained they said "there is nothing we can do about people smoking in our vehicles". Hmm, I wonder how all other reputable companies handle this. Charge your clients a fee if they smoke and get the cars cleaned! Also both vehicles delivered to me came with just enough fuel to prevent stalling. Literally the gas light was on both times on the vehicles. Like really? I finally had it with the company and tried to cancel my rental. They told me there was a minimum 1 week rental period. I agreed to keep it for the week and told them I would drop it off after a week, to which they said ok. 2) After I dropped the car back they tried to claim I didn't bring it back at the right fuel level (empty as I got it). It was their mistake and they agreed, but shows their level of incompetence. Then to my surprise, after I returned the rental they decided to charge me over $170 for pick-up and drop-off fees that were supposed to be free and also were as a result of their dismal fleet of smelly vehicles. They claimed they had to charge me because I didn't keep the rental until my repairs were done. At no time did I sign that I would keep the car until my repairs were done. My only obligation was the one week rental period which I kept. Do not deal with this small shady company and stick with the reputable big car rental brands. The rates here are higher anyways and any 'value added' service comes at a hidden cost. Beware! read more

My little sister was hit into by a drunk driver; they coerced her, an 18 year old girl into signing a contract with them. The towing company they're linked to also refused to release my car and I had to call the police. This company then refused to pick up the car; despite us living over 90 km away and having no way back to my home, they said they don't check if they can actively provide a service when they attend to accidents. This is a small business but it is not professional, not accommodating, and ultimately predatory. If you ever need to rent a car bc something has happened to you or your vehicle I'm advising you never to accept anything from this company, or National Collision Center. please use enterprise or a business you can trust. read more

Kaizen is your typical "good people." The experience with Kaizen was one that I can say was refreshing. I ended up using Kaizen through a referral due to a car accident. My car ended up being a write off and Kaizen, as I no longer had a car to drive understood my situation and didn't hesitate to assist in every way during my loss. After a couple weeks returned the vehicle, and upon payment ended up getting a discount, as well as a drive home. It really is good to know that there are still decent people out there in this day and age. If your worried about using the company, don't. Make sure you call and find their new office. We had free airport pickups and drop offs and we saved around 300$ for a weeks rental. Manager Rita has excellent customer service and we would come back next time we're in Toronto. They had 8 seater vans for rent so it was helpful for our group of 8. read more

I had the great misfortune of doing business with this company through a recommendation of the tow truck driver I was with, who also gladly gave them a call for me. (Yeah, I don't know what I was smoking either) So the car gets there and it was dirty as hell. Just as you can't expect honesty from cheap people, you can't expect clean cars from a dirty company. Anyway, I sit in the car with the guy who brought it, we go over the paperwork the gas tank was practically empty, light was on. (Manager gave me some BS reason about it on the phone but obviously it's so they never have to waste money on filling it up themselves.) So before we even do the walk around the delivery guy tells me "Theres no need to do a walk around, it's a new model, the car is mint" Yeah, that's not happening. So here I am with the guy doing a walk around on possibly one of the dirtiest cars I had seen all month. I had to be so up close to notice anything but lo and behold there was not one, not two, but three scratches. On the hood, on the right mirror and on the right door. Remember, the car was extremely dirty so I had to be up close, this is important later on. So I bring the car back and two days later I get a call about a scratch (Who didn't see that coming from a company that gave me a dirty car, almost no gas, and scratches that the delivery guy said there was none of) The manager tells me about a "noticeable" scratch all the way on the bottom right corner lip of the car. Of course it soon turns into talking about money, he actually starts throwing prices at me to fix this scratch. I ask for pictures, he sends them. The pictures he sends me are of the car just washed (Why not wash it before sending it to someone? Clearly professionalism is not part of this company's vocabulary) And I kid you not, this scratch was so unnoticeable from the wide view angle picture he sent me that the only way I saw it was from the close-up view of another picture.. And that's with the car sparkling clean! Not only that, remember those other scratches I mentioned? They were also on the same side. Obviously, someone scratched the right side of the car. I point everything out in text message. Just to make sure I had the phone number shown so I could send a report to my insurance company including voicemail if need be. So after pointing out how that scratch was there before a couple of days go by with no response. Then I get a voicemail saying he's going to claim against insurance by Wednesday (four days) if I don't pay (I was already prepared if they did) and that it's already been proven it was there after I got it. (his word vs the massive information I sent pointing out that it was obviously there before.) So I ask him to send me previous walk a rounds, he says fine, a day goes by I ask again he said it was a busy day so tomorrow he'll do it (This guy gives me four days to happily pay or he'll claim, yet procrastinates on the issue for two days!) Day three comes, it's 8pm still nothing, I message him telling him if he'll claim tomorrow I'll send a report to my insurance company since he's the one taking his time. I get a text a while later telling me not to worry about it, he had another manager look at it and the problem has been resolved and I won't be charged... Wow. You can't make this stuff up. I had the warning signs go off in my head before I took the car but being impatient, I took it. I have learned a very valuable lesson from this experience, I can only hope the next person who gets the car doesn't get burned. read more

Thank you for the great service you provided when my car was involved in an accident. You were there at my door step when I called you guys at 12:30 am to get a car so I can go to work the next day. The insurance though advised enterprise but they would only open up at 9 am the next day which was no good. I was hesitant to try you guys because of the reviewer above but because you were open this late I decided to do so. The service was great and the car was brand new had like 3000 km's on it. Loved it. The only thing you need to work on is trying to have more locations in the future to make the vehicle drop off procedure more convenient. None the less thanks again. Worst rental company EVER! DO not use this company. I have a form that does not state a return date and now they are charging my credit card $250 for returning the car early. I spoke to my credit card ahead of time and told them everything. IF THEY PULL THIS STUNT WITH YOU call your credit card. Capital One told me they will reimburse me and then go after the company for the money plus charges, which will cost them a lot more than $250. read more

This people are the worst professionals (not professional at all!) I've ever seen in any business. The car smelled crazy like cigarette, they promised to change the car and deliver it to my place. But when they realized that I don't want to continue my contract with them, they said that they're not coming to get the car as promised and I have to deliver it myself and even I couldn't drop the car and had to be between 10-5!! Just enough to ruin my work day. and this didn't stop here, they tried to screw me and charge me extra for the first 48 hours which was covered by my insurance any way but they did their best to threat me to charge me. The story was finished by them charging the insurance with triple the price for a small size smelly car!! Guys, don't rent a car from them, just run away! They don't deserve even one star! read more
