I was amazed how kind, thoughtful, respectful and professional all of the staff and visiting staff were. My care was 100% perfect, I could not have asked for a better experience for my first surgery. Everything that they were going to perform on me was clearly explained and in no way rushed. I had the same experience for my pre-surgery tests and phone call. Everyone went out of their way to extend every courtesy to me. I thank all of the kind nurses and staff and the anesthesiologist who made my experience and recovery so much easier than I had ever anticipated.

I am extremely disappointed with this hospital's failure to communicate and cooperate during a critical time for my adult, brain injured son. Despite repeated requests to case managers for essential discharge planning information and state required capacity assessment forms for conservatorship, nothing was provided except excuses. Phone calls, emails and nurse's requests for phone calls from case management, social workers and doctors are ignored. The one phone call from the case management manager resulted in her promising to obtain information and call me back within a few hours. So far, it's been 4 days with no information. This is typical of communication with this department. I contacted the hospital administrator who assured me these issues were unacceptable and would be addressed, yet no follow-up or resolution ever occurred. In fact, my subsequent emails to him were ignored. The absence of accountability, coordination, and responsiveness created unnecessary hardship for our family. This experience reflects serious deficiencies in patient advocacy and care coordination.

They were nice enough to have a nurse conduct the consultation. I never once spoke with a surgeon. After reviewing my MRIs, I got a call from the receptionist saying that I needed an epidural, which will not correct the problem. It will just put a Band-Aid on it. I know surgeons are busy and don't have time to make phone calls, but when you make the time to show up, it's comforting to consult with the person that was trained to solve the problem. not a nurse. I suggested that the epidural seems to be a method of fee generation rather than solving the problem, and boy did that bite- the attitude immediately changed from the nurse. I don't think it's too much to ask for a surgeon to look at the MRIs and give you his professional opinion, face-to-face, and allow you to answer questions which I was never able to do. It seems Eisenhower- once one of the diamonds in our community has degenerated to a private equity Hell scape. On top of all this when the receptionist called me, she told me that this epidural that " is not a cash grab" has to have a pre-procedure consultation 35 days from now. Patient care is clearly not a priority. I will go somewhere else.

Sorry so many people had to endure watching/hearing me. Finally in a ER room, was cold, asked for a blanket, male nurse came back 15 mins later, oh, forgot. The insurance man went and got me a pillow. Later I asked for a gown and socks as I was still cold. Are all rooms devoid of basic supplies? After IV and meds my body was calming down but i was very concerned about being dehydrated!! My record showed I was alone and 74 yrs . At 2am the nurse told me I was being discharged! Really, I was still sick and alone. She asked if I could call Uber. "OH, it is dangerous " she said. She came in a few more times and at 6am asked me to call a friend to come and get me. Feeling pressured, I woke up a friend in Redlands, of course she didn't. At 7am the Dr came to the door to hug the nurse good by. A new nurse an Dr came in and Dr. Said "I'm not sending you home. We will give you more fluids. Totally different experience for me. Was dismissed at 9am when the concierge called a taxi for me.

This is a systemic review of @EishenhowerHealth and their speciality clinics... This is pointed at…read moretop management who can use this to improve service or ignore at their own peril. My experience over the last two years is that @EisenhowerHealth's "Scheduling Specialists" are not trained to know the difference between an urgent or routine matter. They also exhibit some sort of self-righteousness that allows them to tell the patient "no", impart their own judgement to override specific requests by doctors, and refuse to allow supervisory oversight. I have had TWO life-threatening situations be treated by the appointment staff as "oh, we'll get to it in a couple of months". The first, a staph infection received during a procedure in THEIR clinic was only rectified by bypassing all barriers (of which there are many) to talking to my own physician, who had directed me to call back and schedule for tomorrow. When I called to make the appointment, the "specialist" 1) Refused to make me the appointment my Dr. instructed me to make, and 2) who's supervisor said "absolutely not" when I told them of the issue. Ultimately the issue was resolved when an executive-level-type caught wind of my efforts to get an emergency appointment because of an infection received in THEIR facility, and stepped in. (a clue that your employees are on power trips and running amok) The second, and more recent issue: My understanding of unexplained diareah with weight loss is that it is ALWAYS a deadly URGENT situation. My Dr. referred me to the GI specialist center for just such a situation. The "specialists" idea of an appropriate appointment was 2.5 months out to see the PA evaluator and another 2 months to see the actual Dr. If I wait 12 weeks to see ANYONE about this, I'll be more than 15-20# lighter than I've already fallen (That's less than 155#, down from my normal 185#) - I'd probably be dead. How does a GI specialists not understand the risks of letting unexplained diareah go unchecked for that length of time? Did they miss that chapter in medical school? Eisenhower - you have BIG problems with a sense of urgency.... I'm not going to let you kill me with it, but someone less vocal might (or god forbid, already has). Thank you for your consideration (and prompt action).
