I am a big fan of yum cha and having eaten it in many countries around the world, been on the…read morelookout for it in Germany for the last four years. Munich has one or two places that serve some but pretty ordinary and so, I was excited to discover this one.
The menu here is mostly yum cha or, dim sum as some would call it. They make everything in house and it comes out steaming from the kitchen. They have most of the classic dishes and a couple of creations i have not seen before. They don't have carts going around like the big places in HK but, they do have the same paper menu cards where you can mark what you want.
They refill your tea here for no extra charge, a practice similar to most classic yum cha places. We ordered a few dishes to share and they have a small choice of vegetarian items as well. Most of the dishes tasted good and whilst not exactly like they do in HK but good. The BBQ pork was great, prawn dumplings good and the mushroom dumplings were really good.
Service is very quick and friendly and the place was packed by the time we left. The majority of diners were Asian, a positive sign. Prices are a bit high but I would happily pay for the quality. Definitely a place I would come back to for Sunday yum cha :-)
It's a place hidden away in the back of a shopping plaza behind the Westin hotel. No signs on the street telling you where this is. A lovely find in town :-))
