Last summer, on July 9, 2011, my elderly mother (who is 72), sister and I traveled to Frankfurt for our cousin's wedding. We wanted to stop for a quick lunch before going onto the wedding site. We stopped at the patio outside of Kaiser Grill and sat down. The waitress came outside and started haranguing us and asking what we wanted. We said - quite calmly - that we wanted to have some lunch and to please give us a moment. We sat a moment longer trying to decide if we wanted to dine at this cafe and waited for her to bring us menus. She proceeded to yell at us - loudly enough for all surrounding patrons to hear - that we could not just sit there. To which my mother responded - we are waiting for menus and please stop shouting at us. She blew up at her - calling us stupid Americans. My mom said - "You should be more nice to your customers!" We left completely infuriated and embarassed (and hungry!) We started to get up and walk away and she started screaming after us - "Good Bye stupid Americans!" Unbelieveable. We walked a few more blocks to L'Amir - 17 Weserstrasse, 60329 Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany - and proceeded to spend more than 50 Euro on a *lovely* Lebanese lunch. The Kaiser Grill is - quite simply - the worst restaurant I have ever attempted to eat it. DO NOT patronize them! read more
