The mayonnaise was lovely and seemed homemade (there was some kind of fresh herb mixed in), but it didn't need it. The flavor was perfect on it's own. Reminded me of my time in France!!! I am going back in the morning to try some of their pastries! I think this is the right location. Part of a busy shopping district with plenty of choices available. I really lucked out! Service was friendly, too!! AND sandwich plus bottle of water only cost me 3 euro and 70 cents!!! Best meal I've had since arriving in Berlin and the cheapest.

I usually get the baguette and then, I run to the store and buy feta cheese. My husband, on the other hand, loves the strudel. His favorite is apple and/or cherry. There is a complete variety of breads and desserts. Im actually enjoying to have 200 Mts. away from my home this bakery. I might gain some weight! Who cares? ... I can always exercise.

Sometimes I just pick up a few cookies or delicious mutzenmandeln, other times I go for a bigger pastry. My favorite thing by far is the Kranzkuchen - buttery dough with LOTS of sweet marzipan tangled in and a bunch of alcohol soaked raisins throughout. It is glorious! All the varieties of schnecken are also delicious. During Christmas, I became addicted to their stollenkonfekt. I haven't really found a cake here that I love, but I also tend to not like German cakes too much (I find the doughs too heavy and the creams too "artificial" tasting). The women here are always very kind; they are proud of their home baking! I think they must find my confusion of their desserts quite funny! :)

There isn't much space to sit inside but there is enough outside. The bread, coffee, cakes and pizza are amazing here and what makes it even better is knowing the background and the history of this bakery. We were lucky enough to learn about it during the open bakery tour, which takes place once a year. We learned that they get their grains locally for years from the same organic farmer. They have two mills grinding their own flour. And a system that transfers the flour into the bakery, where it is still prepared and kned the old traditional way. All with a lot of love and passion. The bakery is owned by six partners at the moment and creates this unique love for their profession that is reflected in the quality of their products. I am so impressed by this entire concept that from today on I am committed to buy my bread only here and no longer at the grocery store. If you haven't been here yet, do take the trip and try their bread/pastries and ask tge staff any questions you have, they are always helpful and friendly. This place has also a small room where they sell baking items and organic products. Extra tip: Customers may also purchase their own dough to bake it at home.
What a cool little bakery!…read more My German Airbnb host recommended this place as a wonderful organic bakery which is right around the corner to her apartment in Charlottenburg. One Friday morning, I took a stroll to get breakfast. As soon as you step in, you feel welcomed - the bakery is warm and cozy. One of the staff behind the countered said hello; when I asked if he spoke English, he explained a little bit about the bakery and handed me a menu describing the bread and pastries. The place is most famous for their whole wheat breads, though they have breads made with spelt and rye which sound like they are gluten free. There is a chalkboard on the wall which describes which days of the week certain types of loaves of bread are made -- how organized and cool is that! I had the obst-quark pastry (pinwheel type pastry with cherry inside) and süsse münder (a small cashew type of pastry) plus coffee. The only downside to the cafe is that there is not much seating, though I was able to share a spot with one of the regulars in the seating room/ shop area. A nice bakery oasis in this heavily residential area - I highly recommend you check it out if you love pastries and bread.

Added charm comes in the form of a pianist tinkling away on the baby grand from 14:30 onwards during the weekends All cakes are baked on site in the large kitchen behind the counter. So you know it's not some defrosted offering provided by a larger manufacturer somewhere in cakeland! On our last visit we had Classic Cheesecake, Plum Pudding Cake and Blueberry Meringue Cake. I washed mine down with a Bella Lula Citronade with Mint and it was very citrusy and minty indeed just as the name suggests! I am a real sucker for Meringue and although I loved mine I have to say out of the three the Plum Pudding Cake was the best... if one had to choose of course! There is always a large selection of cakes to choose from and I am sure they are equally delicious ;) I would have to sacrifice my waistline to submit or more comprehensive report!
