Great location, lots of seating available. We went on a busy Sunday afternoon yet were seated quickly. It was definitely a medieval dungeon vibe which was unique. Cappuccino and hot coffee were solid. Wasn't really a huge fan of the cinnamon however the carrot cake was amazing.

Café Kaffekoppen is a beautiful, tight in the basement and the first floor, but confortable in the outdoor seating. The cozy café has a great food options for breakfast and lunch. We went twice since the cinnamon roll and the turkey sandwich were out of this world. The location needs to be mentioned. The restaurant is located at the heart of the Gamla Stan in front of the Novel Price Museum and only steps from the Royal Castle. The building was built in the 1600s and the architecture is amazing. The service is superb. There are countless of friendly employees willing to serve. Highly recommended....

After arriving in Sweden the night before we decided our first meal would be in the Gamla Stan ( old Town ) so we ended up at the Kaffekoppen ( translates to coffee cup in English ). We ended up sitting outside in their beautiful courtyard area on some long wooden benches with a great view of the main square. We ordered the Chicken Curry Sandwich & the Salmon Spinach Pie, both were amazing and quite large. The service was fast & the prices were more than fair especially considering it was in the heart of the Gamla Stan ( 2 entrees & 2 beverages for 331 Swedish Krona ) translating to just under $ 31 U.S dollars. I highly recommend The Kaffekoppen!

Great little cafe in the city center that's walkable in old town. It has a cozy inside with some nice patio seating that provides a view of the city square. A perfect little spot for a morning coffee and a homemade pastry before seeing the sights and exploring old town.

Ok so this place was super cute and the location was awesome. We're happy to have visited early, since they were able to accommodate the seven of us, though we pretty much monopolized their whole indoor seating area. Their sandwiches was great but way too large for me. For a hungry person. Who is looking for more than your ordinary Starbucks, this is it :)

Located in the heart of old town, the cafe was quite busy, so we had to share a table with strangers. This, however, didn't detract from the medieval feel or taste of the food. The decor is just how you imagine the medieval tavern. Salmon & spinach pie was great, as was their blueberry cake. Service was quick and friendly, while prices are on the higher end - although considering the location and the view it was worth it!

Cool place Nice crew . Really nice hot chocolate. The white hot chocolate is super tasty, never tried something like this before. Only tried the drinks. I found the price a little bit expensive.

GREAT stop while visiting Gamla Stan. Out of the 3 small cafes side by side in the square, id say this was the winner for me. Intended on stopping by for just a cappuccino, but due to the jaw dropping response of our table after seeing some sandwiches strolling by, breakfast quickly turned to lunch. Plenty of sandwich options to choose from but don't let the subtle descriptions of "ham and cheese" fool you, you get all of the fixings (see photo for truest form of explanation). A couple in our group indulged on the sweets and unable to avoid a bite- I assure you, they were all off the charts.

Go to the red building and you'll find it :)

Really nice, old-fashioned Cafè, in the Old Town (Gamla Stan) in Nobel museum's square. Don't miss their cinnamon roll with a chai latte if you are there in winter.

We stopped into Kaffekoppen while we were exploring old town for some fika and we were not dissappointed. Their sweets are delicious treats however the carrot cake was the best of all that we tried. Truly may be the best carrot cake I have ever tried. Accompanied by a white hot chocolate I just could not have been any more pleased. A charming and rustic location with food and drink to match. The waitstaff is equally pleasurable. I recommend stopping in.

Sister to next door Chokladkoppen, Kaffekoppen is a cafe located in Gamla Stan's main square. As the old town is one of the most touristy places in Stockholm, the many cafes and restaurants are unfortunately tourist traps. Kaffekoppen is no exception to this. The cappuccinos were average; however, the famous swedish cinnamon buns (kanelbullar) were dry and stale. Though patios were packed, service was quick. Its saving grace was the great view of the square.

It is a very traditional cafe! I tried cheese sandwich, I liked it very much! I highly recommend this place.

Tourist information: Just to be clear. Kaffekoppen and Chokladkoppen are basically the same. They are both tourist traps, very expensive and not really that copy except that you are paying to sit there mainly for the idyllic view. It is really up to you weather you think it is worth it or not, because the food and pastries they serve are really not that special.

Cinnamon roll = massive!

This is such a cute homey place. Yes it is touristy, but hey that's what I am and it does have a…read morelot of local Swedes as well. As I am a tourist, I got that crazy milkshake with a cinnamon bun on top of it just for good measure of course. The cinnamon buns in Sweden are obviously exceptional as they originated from there- crunchy on the outside and warm, melted, soft cinnamon goodness on the inside. The waffles are delicious as well, regardless of which waffle you get. All in all, this is a great place to go to if you're visiting Stockholm!

I'm not sure what Swedish waffles and 1950s diners have in common, but this place makes it work for sure. We came in on a Sunday morning, and were able to get seated right away. My cousin and I both had the raspberry waffle with whipped cream (75 sek, approx $8USD.). The waffle was perfectly crispy and the jam was delicious, but it wasn't a particularly filling for the price, really just a treat. They had fancier offerings as well, for a bit more money, as well as savory combinations. I overheard from a neighboring table that you can order a waffle with both whipped cream and ice cream. Where was this information when I was ordering? Oh well, next time. I would visit Älskade Traditioner again, but perhaps only for dessert. Alternatively I may try one of their savory options for a full meal.
