I was walking my dog in the morning in Antwerp on the hunt for a cafe and we came upon Kaffeenini. It's super cute, very inviting and the staff was very friendly. I ordered a decaf latte and took a seat outside to enjoy the morning sun. The staff brought out my latte along with some doggie treats for Rocky which I thought was very sweet. Cost: 2.80 € for my coffee Would I go back? Definitely! The coffee was delicious and we have found our new favorite cafe in Antwerp. read more

Great drinks and great service! Kaffeenini offers a large open space and a creative menu. There is a drink for everyone, including traditional espresso drinks, sweet coffee concoctions (both hot and cold), hot teas, homemade iced-teas, and a wide range of chocolate milks! If you want a simple, but good cup of coffee or espresso - this isn't a place for you. The taste is mediocre at best, something that all the flavored espresso-based drinks with plenty of milk probably mask. One time I got a croissant with chocolate spread, and the spread was brought in a large jar - are they giving the same jar to all customers? Am I to hope that people don't dip their dirty knives and spoons? After 4pm, you can get a koffie met gebak combo for 5 euros, which is really just a marketing trick, as the regular coffee costs 2,20, and the most expensive cakes - 3,50 (apple crumble is really tasty, I'll give them that). Even though the place is supposed to close at 6pm (6:30pm according to the menu), by 5:30pm, the staff was clearly ready to close, brought the chairs in, etc. On the plus side: plenty of tables inside and outside, good wifi. read more

If you're a big fan of Barnini, the cosy little coffee/bagelbar at Theaterplein, then you should DEFINITELY check his sister venue. Kaffeenini is located at Nationalestraat, with nearby a Velostation. In my opinion, it's bigger than Barnini, or at least I got the feeling that there is more space to sit or hang :-) They offer the same food and drinks as Barnini offers, except for the Flammenkuchen. I love both places and am a regular client, so go go go! read more

I'm not a coffee drinker. Chai is my order wherever I go but sometimes a hot chocolate. I've been to many of the cafes and coffee shops around Antwerp recently. There is a mind blowing conformity to most of them. Ask for a Chai or hot chocolate in any of these shops and they bring you literally the same type of glass with the same powder mix chai or unfinished hot chocolate that you stir yourself. Apparently handing someone a finished curated drink is a tall order here. They get half way through making a drink and push the rest on to you. Well at Kaffeenini they do things differently. Not only was my powder mix chai stirred and ready for consumption upon delivery, it came with cinnamon on top of the foam and an anise star. And if that weren't courageously departing from the norm enough - Kaffeenini serves their chai not in the same standard sized glass as every other coffee shop does, but rather in what is typically the smaller hot chocolate glass used by every other coffee shop. Yesterday I went in for a coffee and a bagel, at least that was the plan. I was hardly greeted by the girl behind the bar, but I thought oh well, we all have bad days. I sat down and for 10 minutes nothing happened. I counted 3 people walking around to serve and one at the bar, or maybe I was mistaking, and they were just there to clean up tables and ignore cutomers... Still then, a simple "I"ll be right there" or at least a smile would have made me stay. But I got up and left. While I was at my bike, I saw they noticed I had left and laughing about it amongst each other. Too bad, it's a nice place with a nice menu. But there are lots of other nice places in Antwerp where I feel more welcome. read more

zeer onvriendelijke service !!! The first time I came here with my boyfriend, after waiting for at least 20min for somebody to take our order, we just left... Today I went in for a coffee and again left very annoyed. The coffee was served promptly this time but the way I was treated was appalling! When I went over to to ask for a wifi password the girl behind the bar first had me wait till she was done making 2 coffees and then without a word walked over to one of the menus, pointed at it, and went back to her place behind the bar. Apparently what she was "trying" to tell me was that the name of one of the items on the menu was the password. A few minutes later another girl came to ask if I managed to connect (nice of her..I thought), which I didnt. After I asked if the first letter of the password is also in capitals - the way its written on the menu, she said it was only in small letters. By this time I was already getting a bit annoyed since it would have been much easier, nicer and more efficient if I was told the correct password in the first place. Noticing my annoyance she dropped "Well that wasnt to difficult now was it?" in a super-patronizing tone as she was walking away from my table... read more

Love this place. Big fan of the capunini. Everything is good and a super location.

I got invited for a CMYE event. Kaffeenini is in the middle of Nationalestraat, which is particulary nice during daytime when you like shopping. It's on a pleasant square halfway the street. The atmosphere is urban. The crowd being Yelp'ers was eclectic and good mannered. I got to try two bagels which tasted very good. The 'Chick', which I really loved is packed with chicken, guacamole, mayonaise and crispy lettuce. The pastrami version is filled with pesto, parmesan, creamcheese and arugola (rucola). The sensation, that in one case the guacamole and the other the pesto comes peeping through the hole in the middle gives a plenty full sensation. I got very sick from their bagel!! Gross!!! Most disgusting bagel ive ever eaten. Just created a yelp account for this! I got a chick bagel to go, which had so much mayonnaise in it I felt sick. I still ate it, since I was hungry and had paid 6 euros for a bagel with mayo falling all over!! Gross!!! There was barely any avocado in there, or chicken, i guess maybe they ran out of ingredients and decided to spread the bagel on both sides with the equivalent of an ENTIRE jar of mayo!! Mayo was falling everywhere, id say it was 40% mayo, 10% other stuff and 50%bagel! Ew!!!!!!!!!! This bagel was more fattening than two mcdonalds burgers!!! Never going back!! Ive never felt so sick before! And i eat out every night! Ive never hated a place this much - will make sure i nor my friends ever come back here!!! read more

This place has so much potential. Great terrace (horrible chairs btw), nice cakes and bagels. I ordered a chicken bagel but couldn't find the chicken. Could have been so much better. From a place like this I also expect a good coffee which was absent. read more

When we went there at 18:00 we had in mind to eat something, on the menu they have bagels. At 18:00 told us that they don't serve food just drinks! And they close at 19:00...Wanted to pay by card, told us that is not working, only cash accepted. Overall, BAD service, bad attitude.. read more
