I especially like their well-made capuccino (even with soy milk). I haven't tried many of their coffee sorts, but there is a huge selection for all machines and of all kinds (I bought Espresso Napolitano). One can find their coffee in several places in the city. Go if you're a true coffee fan, or if, like me, you spent some time in Italy and miss a good cup. (There is also coffee to go and they sell reusable cups with a free refill. Clearly not a place for working especially when the roasting machine is on, but it has a nice coffeechurchcult kind of atmosphere.)

If you're a coffee junkie, this is the place to go. I had a fresh brewed Nicaragua Maragogype and it was just a blessing. I loved it in every single way. Plus you get to see the master roaster in action roasting the coffee beans just in the middle of the shop. The smell is wonderful and adds a lot to the already great experience. I had some banana bread which was yummy too. Prices are very modest to say the least, especially considering the location in the middle of downtown Cologne. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Smoking is allowed outside, in a designated area. The food here is very good. But where Café Reichard excels, is at their dessert. The four of us descended upon Café Reichard, after a long and enjoyable afternoon visiting the cathedral. It was magnificent experience, see review and photos. Since it looked like rain, we decided to sit at a covered table. We decided to try a little bit of this and that. But first, we needed some strong German Kaffee to get our motors going again. LOL As I said, I went with the Apfelpfannkuchen €12,60 (see photo). While others tried the Schnitzel und Kartoffel €27,10, Ofenfrische Heidekartoffel mit Kräuterrahm, or Turkey with a Baked Potato. All were very good and tasty, but the Kutchen (desserts) were the best. Depending on how hungry, or thirsty you are, expect to spend €25.00 each.
