Here you can enjoy the full variety of the Austrian pastry world, since this place is a coffeshop, bakery and pastry shop at the same time. The staff is friendly and swift. The opening hours are mediocre, but in line with all the other pastry shops, meaning closing early at 19:00 (7 pm) from Monday to Friday and on Saturday and Sunday even closing already at 18:00 (6 pm). This coffeeshop is a great place to have a late breakfast on weekend for instance, since this place opens already at 7:00 and at 06:30 throughout the week. We usually have the Bäckerfrühstück (Baker's Breakfast), which regularly consists of a Kaisersemmel (Emperor roll), a croissant, two marmalades and a portion of butter. You also can have honey. If you are more of the Austrian type you easily can exchange the croissant for two Kaisersemmel (so altogether 3 rolls) and the marmalade/honey is to choose from strawberry, apricot, raspberry or honey (pick two out of these four). There are many other different kids of breakfast offered here. As snacks this place offers many sandwiches and you even can have different sorts of hummus or ham&eggs and other delicious things to eat from the showcase. The interior is very artsy and stylish and makes this place comfortable to stay in for a while and to read the newspapers. If you are with little children, there is also a small corner with some toys for some kids. From Graz with love! Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann

Sitting within this palais while Arnold Schwarzenegger, probably Graz' most famous son, is watching you through many pictures of him hanging on the walls. With the Café Kaiserfeld you have a coffee shop with Viennese coffee shop flair, right in the center of Graz. Frankly you almost forget to be in Graz, due to the atmosphere and the aura of Arnold Schwarzenegger being omnipresent in the Café Kaiserfeld. The opening hours are decent throughout the week, since the Café Kaiserfeld closes at 22:00 (10 pm), but on Saturdays it closes as early as 18:00 (6 pm) and Sundays the Café Kaiserfeld is closed at all. This could be improved... Actually there is also no WiFi, so better bring your own. And when it comes to plugs it is also quite complicated and a matter of improvisation. Here the Grand Café Kaiserfeld is totally in line with the traditional Viennese coffee houses sticking to tradition. Many events are held in the Café Kaiserfeld throughout the year and you also can have lunch, toasts and soups here at Café Kaiserfeld. The delicious pastries and the coffee of the Café Kaiserfeld is also in line with the standards of a Grand Café. This comes together a very nice and comfortable atmosphere to sit in, with a decent jazz, lounge, and big band music playing in the background. With Love! Dr. Dr. Immanuel Fruhmann

I saw pastries in a glass case, but did not order any. The atmosphere was cozy, and seating included outdoor seating and a large meeting room.

Here at Martin Auer at the Graz-Geidorfcenter you find a nice, relaxed coffee shop which has been my favorite coffee shop for years. The reason for that: it has high ceilings, its interior is light and bright with comfortable sofas/couches located in its corners, and even the chairs are comfortable to sit in for a longer stretch of time. The lounge music playing in the background is helping you to relax even better. Below you see one of the two relaxing couch corners with also a real cow skin couch chair. The staff is very friendly and willing to help you. The coffee shop has a great bohemian chill-out atmosphere and free WiFi as well as many plugs to charge your devices. If you want to sit in the patio to soak up the sun, there are many comfortable beach-chairs as well as sofas outside to sit in, right next to some trees. This coffee shop is perfectly located when it comes to long hours of sunshine inside the shop as well as outside in the patio, since it has a huge glass facade and is located next to the River Mur without many houses and especially without tall houses in between the café and the river. So all year long you can enjoy long hours of sunshine due to its great light angle. As for the pastries and desserts, you have plenty of delicious Austrian pastries and desserts to choose from, some with cheese, nut, poppy seed, marmelade, chocolate filling and topping, only to name a few. I had a Melange (typical Austrian coffee) with my favorite Honigreingerl (also called Kärntner Reingerl), both very delicious and a good combination by the´way. The Honigreingerl may not look spectacular from the outside but it tastes great. It is a bun with honey inside. So if you are a honey bee like me, go for it. The only thing what could be improved at the Martin Auer is the opening hours. Since the Martin Auer coffee shop is a bakery as well, it starts early 06:30 am (weekends on 07:00 am) and closes early as well: weekdays (19:00 / 7 pm) and on Saturdays and Sundays it closes even at 18:00 (6 pm).
