Today I had a virtual interior design consultation with K. Jillian Designs and it was amazing!! It is hard to imagine doing something so personal to your space and life virtually - but I have to say that K. made it super easy. In this trying time where myself and others are 100% at home, we ended our call with me feeling empowered, excited and confident that I could make realistic, creative and fun updates that will make my apartment a more livable and enjoyable space. Here's a quick recap of how things went. To prepare, I sent her inspirational pictures of my style aesthetic and photos of my home. We started with a virtual walk-through - coming through my front door - and then a tour of my entire apartment. Then we moved on to talking about each room/space individually and what her ideas were in terms of updating; adding pieces; removing pieces; rearranging what exists, etc. As a part of this I broke out my tape measure, which to be honest isn't something I do - ha-, to get an idea of what could fit where. These are the things I most appreciated about our time together: K. made me feel in control of my space. That there were many ways, beyond anything I'd ever imagined, to do both small and bigger things to make the space that I have work better for me. K. made my budget work for me. She asked me great questions and gave me recommendations that will be actionable now, while taking into consideration that I'm a renter so anything we did would need to be not permanent. K. brought all of her recommendations to life by sending me photos while we talked to help me understand looks and context. K. was open to my ideas as well. She had a wonderful way of being open and considerate of my thoughts and when and where they could be incorporated into the overall vision and/or where something else may work better - she was always right on! K. made me feel like I have a partner through this. I will do the shopping/assembling on my own but she gave me a wonderful road map to get there and we will plan other check-ins to check my progress. I couldn't have asked for a better virtual consultation and I'm looking forward to the results. I already feel better simply knowing what is possible! Thank you again K. Jillian for a wonderful experience and I look forward to working with you through this process and recommending you to all of my family and friends :) And I will be sure to update with my before and after photos!! read more

Keysha of KJilliandesigns has an unique eye and talent for designing and decorating all types of spaces. I've used her services on two occasions. One on a relatively modern home a few years ago and recently on a 109 year old home listed on the National Registry of Historical Places. I had the opportunity to see some of the more modern homes and spaces she designed and knew she would do a great job. The historical home, quite honestly, I didn't know what to expect. She came in at a time (soon after purchase) with the house in total disarray and little done in terms of renovation. There was wall paper hanging from walls, plaster from ceilings, and paint peeling as the home had been vacant for years. In a relatively short time frame, she worked out a design scheme which included paint colors, window treatments, and shopped for both furniture and accessories. She made herself available and offered guidance through phone consults and swapping of photos. The results turned out great! The home feels warm and inviting and has a perfect transitional feel with some modern touches while maintaining the home's historical character. Keysha displayed the patience, skill, knowledge, professionalism, and experience one would want on their design project. I would highly recommend her for all your design needs, both large and small. I used K. Jillian Designs' services to decorate my 5500+ sq. ft. home, including the entire buildout design of my basement. In a nutshell, working with Keysha was a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend her services to anyone like myself, who wants to feel like they're a part of the process, but still needs that added touch and design expertise that Keysha provides. Admittedly, I can be an indecisive person, but she took the time to ask questions about my likes/dislikes at the start of the process and then presented me with several options to select from. Again, making me feel like I was truly a part of the process and not just standing on the sidelines. What I appreciated most was that she incorporated key existing pieces into the design and was able to successfully integrate new high and low end items, which resulted in a polished and upscale feel throughout my home. I am often complimented on how welcoming my home feels to visitors. Overall, Keysha was extremely professional, detail-oriented, knowledgable about the design industry, and always available when I had questions or concerns. Keysha and K. Jillian Designs far exceeded my expectations and I would definitely use her services again. read more

There are more than a few superlatives that I can use to describe K-Jillian Design. Professional, efficient, and smart! If I only said that; that should be enough for anyone to hire this company. When I tell you the owner took a blank canvas and turned my 1100 sq feet condo into a luxury sanctuary and I am not over-stating. The amazing part about it; we ordered only a few pieces online so I was stressing because I was told it would only take 2 days to complete the entire project. Of course I was thinking to myself "how in the world would this lady be able to pull this off" But guess what? She did more than I could of ever wish or want for. I love my condo from the paint, to the custom curtains, all the furniture she selected and of course she stayed on budget. Other keys for me, K-Jillian Design was detailed oriented, precise in her calculation and never wavered when I didn't see her vision. I trusted her 100% and she did like my Chicago Cubs "hit it out the park". All I can say no matter where you live and need a designer/decorator quick, long-term or just want to improve your home or office I would HIGHLY recommend K-Jillian Design for any project. By the way "she travels". Amazing, just Amazing. read more

When I purchased my home, I was so excited; but also overwhelmed by the blank canvas in front of me. I had a vision but wasn't quite sure how to bring it to life. That's when I decided to hire a designer, and working with Keysha turned out to be the best decision I could've made. From our very first meeting, Keysha took the time to understand not just our style, but how we live in our home. She asked thoughtful questions, listened closely, and helped uncover a design direction that felt completely aligned with who we are. Her process was collaborative, creative, and incredibly organized -- a combination that made the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Every choice from the lighting to the furniture to the smallest accent felt intentional and also reflected both functionality and style. Beyond the aesthetics, Keysha's attention to detail and project management were exceptional. She handled everything from sourcing and ordering to installation and kept us in the loop every step of the way. What could have been stressful became exciting and inspiring. I'm so grateful to Keysha and her team for helping turn our house into a home -- one that feels personal, beautiful, and completely ours. read more

K. Jillian came highly recommended from our realtor. Once we closed on our new home, we quickly reached out to Keysha and her team to help us with the design of our foyer, dining, living, kitchen and guest bath. Most of our furniture and décor we had from our last home was of a traditional/contemporary look and we wanted our home to have a more modern aesthetic. Keysha had a blank canvas to work. She has a keen ability to communicate effectively by asking the right questions and listening, giving suggestions and insight where needed. She did a fabulous job at creating something that truly represented our desires and constraints. Her vision, professional acumen and amazing design style culminated in a look that truly exceeded our expectations. Keysha transformed our home in a way that is both beautiful and functional. It feels great to walk into a space that is exciting, stylish and comfortable all at the same time. Lastly, her personality is very loving and nurturing. When I reached out to Keysha, I really had no idea what to expect from a consultation. I knew that while the big furniture I had was in the right place, my new house was lacking the oomph that would bring everything together into one cohesive space and would really make a statement. She came in for a consultation and immediately I knew that this the right choice. She quickly launched into the details that I never knew I needed, from being able to change a space, just by making small changes like replacing the picture frames and adding a statement wall. She gave me suggestions on colors, how to avoid overdoing accents and even gave me measurements for what size art, mirror and curtains. I have a renewed sense of purpose in getting this space pulled together into something that I can be proud of and I really have to give all the credit to Keysha. I highly recommend hiring her! read more

Regarding K. Jillian Designs I must first disclose that I am not the easiest person to work for. I was unable, due to my lack of sophistication, to give much guidance to the wonderful Keisha as she designed my first adult living space. Although I am older than 50, I have lived in a dorm room type atmosphere for 30 years. I decided it was time to be an adult, and Keisha helped me get there. I chose a few pieces of furniture, and Keisha built the rest of the home around those pieces. Everything in my apartment fits a theme, and for the first time my life I am proud to show people where I live. My children have amazing bedrooms and my home is a showplace thanks to Keisha. I cannot recommend her more highly. read more
