We decided to take a quick spontaneous drive to an unknown location for about 45 minutes, and here we were, Wolfstein, Germany. It's located about 27 kilometers west northwest of Kaiserslautern, and it was a beautiful hilly town. There's a castle and a mine where you can get on a tour if you were there on time (of course we weren't). The village somehow reminded me of Manitou Springs or Green Mountain Falls in Colorado.
We stopped at this hotel + restaurant called Konigsberg. My boyfriend ordered rahmsteak and I ordered parmesanschnitzel. Parmesanschnitzel is just like chicken parmesan but with schnitzel. It was different, and I do not have any other parmesanschnitzel experience to compare this one to. But it was delicious nonetheless. He loved his steak. I would venture out if we ever go back there again, but it was one of those spontaneous road trips just to find a little town with food and scenery. read more
