Customer service is none existent here. I came to look for a duvet and pillow. I saw 3 workers and tried to ask them about the sale. None would look at me. When I went to pay, there was a worker at one till. 3 other workers were standing by the "Online Order" tills. One person asked if I was waiting to pay. I said Yes. He said 'Oh you can pay there'. All while the other 3 stood there talking. Then another customer walked behind me in line to pay and the other worker tells him that he can help. I look at the worker and said "You told me to pay here?" The other customer said that I could go first but the worker helped the other customer. When i finally got to pay, the cashier didn't give me the receipt. They started to walk away and I had to ask them for the receipt. The store does have a variety of home items so that's the only positive thing. read more

Customer service is horrible. The cashier at the Jysk in Richmond BC was very, very rude. After helping the customer in front of me it was my turn. She barely said hello, she rings my stuff up while I am getting my debit card and then I waited and waited and waited. She had her head down and started working on some fabric flowers not even looking at me. Finally I said "ok so debit please", she said "I can see that", still won't give me the debit machine. Now she helped a woman right before me exactly where I was standing. I'm starting to get really puzzled. I finally say "oh do you want me to switch sides of the till, is that where the machine is"? She says "well have a look for yourself". And continued with her flowers not raising her head or making eye contact. Now I am exasperated and I say well you could have told me that's what you wanted me to do instead of making me guess. I have to now move the items I bought to the right side of the till, she did not help one bit, if anything she thought she was funny and had a smirk on her face. So I pay and I am putting my items in my bag by myself when she helps the white man behind me. She is courteous, pleasant and she made sure I heard her say "sir come on over to this side of the till", and help him. This is what racists do in the service industry, they make a big deal out of something small so if I was to complain it makes me look like the angry Indigenous person. Happens all the time so I know it when I see it. I won't be returning to that store. read more

Customer Care...Does not exist. Be careful shopping in the United Blvd Coquitlam location. A display collapsed on me in august and I had my ankle cut open. I was limping and bleeding and they offered no first aid. They took a picture of my cut up ankle and sent me on my way. No bandages or nothing. I called the store to follow up on the incident report a few days later and no return call from manager Reece. Then a couple more days go by and I call and he says I have to deal with customer service as it was out of his hands. I called MULTIPLE times and sent MULTIPLE emails and no response. Finally 2 months later and they didn't even say sorry or ask how I was or provide an incident report. They emailed to say we want to give you a 200 gift card for your trouble. I wanted them to send a report and at least pretend they cared by sending me a phone call. Nope. I have every other week called and emailed to say are you guys even caring? No return calls and then finally in mid October they said customer service can't help you it's with the claims department now. They have had the file for a month now and not one call. This department has no phone number and no one can transfer you. 2 weeks ago an independent adjuster called to ask what happened and I told him and still have not heard back from Jysk. Just shocking you let someone leave the store bleeding. You don't return calls or emails. No incident report. No one calls to see how you are. Nothing. These guys do not care at all. They want the money and that's it. You would never get that from a mom and pop store. I would highly recommend giving your money to literally ANY other store as from the store level all the way up there is a culture of Do not worry about the customer. They do NOT matter!!! I'm really not sure why more people don't shop here, I personally love it! Well aside from the fact that there is usually a large section of each store dedicated to wicker. I have had good and bad experiences with this but am overall pleased with the cost and quality of their furniture, it is very similar styles to Ikea but a little less expensive. Much like Ikea I love that I can shop online and just run into the store and grab my items, not that it takes long to find them, Jysk locations are not usually huge like Ikea. I have their Chaise sofa and love it, ordered online for in store pick up and was in and out of there very quickly! I looked at a freestanding mirror that I really liked but wasn't in stock, was put on a wait list and then never contacted but they still sell the item so I know it was restocked, lame! I have been waiting for their Laura bed frame to go on sale for months and I finally got lucky, 20% off all furniture, I quickly rented a truck and dragged a strong man friend out to the heart of Richmond to collect my treasures. I had put the bed frame on hold over the phone and loved that they let me do that...but when I got to the store and I inquired about it I was told it wasn't held and asked if I still wanted it? What...of course I want it if it is in stock, why reflect negatively on your company by telling me it wasn't actually put on hold? Picked up a new queen size bed frame, office chair and shower curtain for $250 with tax, unbeatable price! It also color matched perfectly with my Ikea Malm bed side table so it fits right in with my old furniture! I would actually buy at Jysk over Ikea any day for furniture...but Ikea is where it's at for housewares...there is a lot of room for improvement in that department with Jysk although they do have some nice housewares. read more

BAD Terrible quality. I bought a bed frame from them and one of the wood boards snapped on assembly. I'm thankful it didn't happen when I slept on it. They use a lot of manufactured wood. Throughout the store, I noticed that their products are made very cheaply. You get what you pay for. Don't expect their products to last very long or be safe to use. For a budget level home furnishings store, it's actually better service than I expected. Granted, its quality won't make the Martha Steward standard, but expect good deals if you're looking for basic stuff, & a few things can surprise you lol. Alright, so we ordered this $500 bed and we waited like 3 weeks for it. Great. We didnt mind even though my mum had to sleep on a cardboard makeshift bed while waiting for the damn thing. We ordered 3 more things which were all in stock. Then when the bed finally came, we had to wait another week for them to arrange delivery, which was only once a week. The delivery guy finally came and he was pretty nice, but apparently, not only had they gotten our number wrong, the delivery only had 1 item, instead of the 3 more important and more expensive ones that we were waiting for (these items were all fully paid about a month or less previously). When I called, they even brazenly said "I think we did the right thing...". And previously when I called to check on the order status- like when the bed is going to come, they were impatient and rude and even though they said they would update us when the bed is arriving, they didn't. I was actually really patient up till the point of delivery. After that, I just lost all my patience with this place. I'm not going to wait one more week for this. This has been such a disappointment. And even the shoe rack we bought with them was of really really poor quality. I mean the holes were not even in line AT ALL. I get when some places have customers that leave dissatisfied, I mean, you can't please every one. I guess I was just really unlucky, but the lack of organisation and the insincere service I received really makes me want to give them a one star. But some of the items I ordered I like it quite abit but the whole experience is just extremely disappointing. I would just stick to IKEA. I'm done. To think I give Subway 4 stars. read more

I bought furniture for over 10,000 SEK in Sweden over three days. Since I bought furniture on three different occasions I emailed Jysk to see if they could charge me for only one shipping (249 SEK). These orders would still come on the same day, but Jysk and Louise Pitts at Kundservice SE completely ignored my request saying that they couldn't honor this request although they would only have to debit me 500 SEK. I purchased a wendy telescopic bathroom shelf and it has some missing components, they are not entertaining any complaints. A second update for JYSK - yikes, a cashier mature aged female named Olga was pretty grouchy. She asked me to sign up my email and I said, "no thanks". Then she asked for it again, so I lied, "I'm from out of town" to get out of giving her my information. Then she asks me for my postal code, and I told her I can give her the hotel postal code? She just stands there staring at me, still not smiling. So I gave her a random hotel postal code. Then when my purchase is done, she goes, "Want a bag?" (still not smiling, looking bored or unamused). I asked, "is it free?" just because I wanted to see how she would reply to more interaction. (Most staff I meet usually smile and say "yes" or "of course") but she gives me a look as if I asked something incredibly stupid, and says "yes" in the same non-smiling wooden face. I take the bag and I wish her a good day to see if she would smile, but nope, she just stares, no crack of even a small smile at all. On my way out, I said, "Sheesh don't be grouchy." Don't work here if you hate it so much, lady. The other young staff were so helpful and happy, so instead of a 1 star for Olga the Grump, I'll raise this to 2 stars. read more

I was in the Richmond store and bought a patio set and hanging umbrella. The original sales rep was helpful but she neglected in advising me I will need the concrete weights to keep the umbrella balanced. We got home assembled and set it up, it fell over hitting my 78 yr old father in law in the head. I went back to ask about the weights and found they were a separate purchase. I proceeded to buy the weights but suddenly I saw that the sales person was not as helpful and said there were none available. I noted there were 12 cement weights on the display and surely she could sell me two. She refused so I asked to see the manager. After nearly 20 minutes the manager finally showed and proceeded to lecture me about how the display weights were needed for the display umbrellas. I asked if it was necessary to display so many umbrellas as surely one would suffice to inform the customers what they look like. The manager insisted that the weighs were needed as they would prevent the umbrellas from falling over on the customers. My wife asked if that includes an umbrella falling on her father's head because they neglected to tell us about the weights when we first bought the umbrella. The manager got rude and obstinate with my wife and then told me they only had one weight available for sale (suddenly there was one) I insisted if they can sell me one they can sell me two, that obviously they are holding out. At this point the manager threatened to call security. I sarcastically said maybe she should call the police as well. I grabbed two weights from the display and brought them to the checkout, they refused my money and then called the police but lied to them saying I had stolen something from the store but proceeded top ring up one of the weights and asked if I wanted the chair and computer desk I had also been asking about. I decline but waited to see how this would play out.. When the fuzz arrived, I explained this to the 3 squad cars that rolled up, two security guards and they all agreed I was in the right but that the manager has the right to refuse service. Thus I am advising others to beware the poor service from the Richmond Jysk staff. Once at home; My father in Law has a serious bump on his head. I wonder if this would warrant legal action. Or the fact that a false claim was made about me being a thief? All this was recorded by the Vancouver police so I imagine I could make more of a deal about this. Hoping the Jysk upper management will address this quickly. read more

First, I'd like to say that this store has a lot of great prices. However, customer service is lacking! I purchased the Laura bed frame, along with 3 other large items, and it was delivered damaged. It looked like it had been owned and used, or a floor model. There was an ink spot and cracking on the headboard, and the side panels were scratched up quite a bit. I called, shared my disappointment, and set up a pick-up and exchange - all was fine, the manager apologized, seemed to care a little, scheduled the pick-up. Just to add, the delivery guy was friendly but he was working alone and had to carry these heavy boxes on his own. Not only for safety, but there should have been a second person to help out because it took a really long time. This brings me to disappointment #2, I sit home all day waiting for a call for the delivery and received nothing. Waste of my time. I called and they said they had come to my place, the delivery guys had called, and the store had called. I have no history of this in my phone. They had been confusing an '8' for a '5', I assume misreading over being written wrong because they had no problem contacting me on the first delivery. The manager was stressed and sounded annoyed, she almost didn't apologize until I sounded more than annoyed myself. In saying that, the inconvenience of having to exchange a damaged product, then having the delivery mishap, I would expect they would maybe reimburse my delivery fee or possibly a gift card for inconvenience. Just something other than an annoyed manager telling you that you gave them the wrong number, that they managed to decode the first time around. I had a delivery from IKEA the same day, they had delivered a cover for a different couch, the return was simple and I got $25 gift card. That is all. read more

I have also been really pleasantly surprised by the quality you get for price and am now turning to them for pretty much all my household decor and furnishing needs. I am also extremely happy with their customer service. Each time I am there the staff is always super helpful and their manager Mike was particularly helpful with resolving an issue with the purchase of a bunk bed for my daughter. The worst customer service experience. I got a product delivered, it was defective before I put it together, and it fell apart. I showed JYSK photos and told them to send me a new one. After much deliberation and back and forth on the phone and via email, they charged me shipping for a new one, and I am still waiting for that new product to come (it has been a month and a half!) . I have now been on hold for 20 minutes trying to resolve this. Just awful. Don't bother. read more

Quite possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Please double check all fine print and don't believe anything customer service tells you. I reserved items online, asked if they were going to be the colours I wanted (because it didn't seem to register colour options) before venturing in store, received a reply and when I went in, sure enough... they randomly selected items. Apparently if you reserve items online they will just choose whatever to fill your order. Quote from CS: 'the colleagues there selected the colors randomly as per policy to fulfill the online reservation.' The Customer service email stopped replying to me. Facebook customer service basically told me I'm wrong and won't reply with information I am requesting (ie. a head office/management number). Instead they finish their email with: 'We are afraid that there is nothing more we can do' They need to fix their online system and their customer service reps need to learn to apologize for inconveniencing people instead of passing blame. read more

I have had the most disappointing experience with this store through their online web purchase. 1 week after placing the an order for a single mattress, I heard nothing from them - neither phone nor email. I called to inquire, to which they replied, "We can't find your order, you should go into a store and they will sort it out for you." (Even though I had the order number, which I gave them.) We go in-store, the store manager tells us that the online store and their physical stores basically operate as two separate entities - as though they are not the same company, so technically it's "not their problem", but that they would be happy to take over the order. Perfect. We are told it would be delivered in 3 days. 3 days goes by - no word from the store. We call. "It hasn't been delivered? Let me call the delivery company. - It will be delivered tomorrow." Tomorrow goes by, no word. This repeats for 3 days. I finally call at the end of the week to complain, to which their store manager says, "You need to call the delivery company yourself." Me: "Why do I have to call YOUR delivery company? I ordered the item from you, along with delivery, shouldn't you be resolving this with YOUR delivery company? Him: "Well actually the online purchases have nothing to do with us." Me: "But you took on the onus of this purchase when the online merchant lost our order. So now you are washing your hands clean of this responsibility?" SILENCE. Meanwhile, the delivery service calls the on-site guy who is receiving the delivery 3 times, twice with the wrong address - the first being the billing address, the second, some weird amalgamation of the billing address and the shipping address. The third time they finally get it right, except they tell him they will only deliver it to the lobby of a 10-floor condo building, and if they wanted delivery of the mattress into the suite, it would be an additional charge - and the purchaser (ie., myself) would have to call and verify. So I call. The delivery company provides 3 phone numbers. the first two don't work - one is just a permanent busy signal, the other just rings forever. The third number works. The delivery lady tells me that lobby delivery is one charge, suite delivery is additional, and delivery INTO THE ROOM, is yet another charge. I have never heard of a delivery company who charges by the imperial foot they travel. After all that, they tell me they still need to call Jysk to approve the additional charges, oh, but it's after 3pm, and her supervisor in Toronto has left for the day so they can't do it until tomorrow. So it's been 2.5 weeks since I placed the order, I've spoken to about 8 different people, wasted probably 4 hours of my life dealing with this issue, and still no mattress. So I called today to ask for a full refund. Who knows when my credit card will be refunded. Total nightmare. I signed up just so I can post this review. read more

Horrible service from the guy with the piercings in loading zone (nothing against piercings). Everyone else was barely helpful. I asked for suggestions on accessories to go with my purchase and was told "i dont know maybe look up at the front". Being denied help even when they are not busy. All I asked for was for them to see if I could fit my purchase in my car and if I could take it out of the box to see if it could fit...I got the item home out of the box and of course they were all small enough pieces to fit in my car easily. He grumbled the whole time saying "I'm telling you!" Then kept saying "I told you!!" And he even shout it to me as I was leaving to go find a truck to use. I won't go back to this location I'm very disappointed with the service I was really excited to get the item for my daughters birthday but left feeling upset and bitter about the shopping experience..I purchased the item still but refused to pick up in Richmond and the jysk in Port Coquitlam had 10 times better service they were friendly and helpful and let me get the item at their location instead. After spending many hours reviewing Boxing Week sale flyers, and online ads, I headed out with a friend to buy a bedframe and boxspring from Jysk, knowing EXACTLY what I wanted. After 10 minutes of trying to get the attention of two sales people who were doing paperwork, but walked away each time I tried to get help, I began to examine the beds myself. One of the frames lifts up for storage. I had it lifted and was looking how to put it down when my friend, who has a rough edged look, put his hands on the frame. --THEN-- the sales person came over, not to sell us anything, or even offer to help, just to deliver a lecture about not touching the frames, as we would "break" them. Even when I told him I was there to buy one he continued the talking down. I'm generally a very tolerant person, as I have had jobs in retail management, but after the third round of chiding, I took the hint that my business was unwelcome, and left to spend my $450 elsewhere. Poor customer service (lady-cashier&saleslady) except for Ryan who helped us out.I bought sofa, shelf, shelf basket and wall frame and I asked for home delivery. They called me saying that it will be delivered on a specific day so I agreed. I have to asked my friend to stay home.. unfortunately on the morning of delivery they told me that they couldn't deliver because it's out of way! I only asked favour to my friend just to wait for that.. My point is, I did not set the delivery schedule, you guys did!! So they decided to deliver it on the following day.. When it came, the wall photo frame is broken! The shelf basket came in different colour! The day I paid everything in JYSK Richmond, I made sure to cashier that I wanted to receive what I pick that day and she said yes and I put everything on the cashier's side.. what's the point of spending hours in their store to pick what I want if on the delivery it will not be the same! If there was any way I could give a negative number as a review, I would. I absolutely LOATHE the entire company. They have no sense of customer service. I have placed 2 orders with them and have made 6 complaints thus far. It's like they want me to hate them. Just to contextualize anyone reading this review, my first order was for a over the toilet storage cabinet. I did not want to spend a fortune on one and a colleague of mine mentioned that JYSK offers free delivery. I went ahead and placed the order even though I could tell that the quality of their items isn't stellar. First of all, from the online order alone, I had an issue. I placed an order for free home delivery and my order confirmation showed that I had to pick it up in stores. I called them and they briefly apologize and a saleslady mumbled that they were having technical difficulties. Anyway, that gets sorted out and the delivery came, when I opened the box, I realized a few important pieces were missing. So I called again and this time they offered no apology and proceeded to RUDELY tell me where to go pick up the missing items. I sent a friend of mine to go pick it up and they time the store clerk assured us that everything was included. The next day, my friend and I are assembling the item and well, of course, the damn hardware goes missing. We search everywhere in the boxing and on the ground, assuming that JYSK couldn't possibly be this incompetent and yet there were. Every single time I've had to contact their customer service, they have acted like I was bothering them and did not care at all. THEY HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. DO NOT SHOP HERE. Waited 20 minutes to have someone check that a bed frame was in stock. then stood in line a further 20 minutes to pay. When I went around back to pick it up - it turns out it was not available after all. I was then told they would call around and try to have one brought in next day - and would call me later that day. I had to follow up again - only to find there are no bed frames available and now I am expected to go back to the store and spend more time to get a refund. I asked why it could not be processed on the phone and was told no. I would think JYSK manager would want to do all possible to make up for the inconvenience - but apparently not. read more
