Yes yes Paris has a boat ton of souvenir stores in the city, but this is different. This is classy and not for your fanny pack wearing cheesy tourists. That is why I loved it. The items are unique and dont' scream "I WENT TO PARIS". I ended up getting a 'niece' a kids book that explains the sights of Paris and other cool stuff with both French and English. Perfect! She sells gourgeous pillows, aprons, kid stuff, you name it; but all with a unqiue and classy flair. Great spot for a gift !

The night that we were headed towards the…read moreEiffel tower and were walking past shops I remember my eyes immediately zeroed in on the floral designs and meticulously organized display case and I mentally thought to myself: "I'm going to stop by tomorrow." and so I did, and initially I walked away having thought that I spent too much but then when I compared the expense to what it cost back in the US, I realized that shopping here is a really good deal and I would definitely recommend that if you're looking to buy gifts; this is a must stop. They have a good variety of sets from full size bottles to miniature sets. Some that come with just parfume, eu de toilette or a combination of soap, gels and parfums. I saw that prices ranged from 16 - 24 Euro for the miniature sets, but the prices are also reasonable for single sized parfum and cologne bottles. Yes, they offer cologne for men here and I was really impressed with how well all of them seemed to smell. I ended up buying a full sized bottle for my brother while I was here, as well as gifts for some of my friends. The lady tending to us was really kind, and she allowed us to take our time and even included individual gift bags as well as a variety of samples for us and the people we were buying for. The gift bags alone seemed to be a work of art and we left very happy and content with our purchases. The only problem now is, where will we shop when we run out of products we bought? Maybe that will be an incentive to return...

Lots of cool Eiffel Tower things. I bought a baseball cap and a coffee mug. From the SETE website - what they sell: "Eiffel Tower miniatures and key rings, post cards, medals as well as stationery, clothing, tableware... These items, some of which cannot be found elsewhere, are suited to all ages and budgets." If you are looking to find Eiffel Tower socks, however, well, I had no luck.... You can click on the Yelp link to their website and purchase from there if you forgot to get something when on site. Interesting fact - according to Wikipedia the SETE "now considers any illumination of the tower to be under copyright. As a result, it is no longer legal to publish contemporary photographs of the tower at night without permission in France and some other countries." Another interesting fact - recently (December 2014) gift shop workers went on strike to demand a 300 Euro salary raise (a month?). There are apparently about 50 employees. There are about 7 million visitors to the Eiffel Tower a year.

Horrible. Never order from another country. Fraud…read more Pylones used to have shop in London, but not anymore. I saw their new collection and ordered many items for my friend's birthday and some of them were for Christmas presents. The total amount of my order with delivery was 122,80 pounds. I placed my order on the 26 of October. Until now - 6 of December I still haven't received anything. It takes a week with the Royal Mail to get anything from France. Pylones sent the parcel with Chronopost and when I tried to track the parcel it was stuck for days without explanation. I wrote to customer service and they replied that they are checking it with Chronopost. Later I wrote to them again because nothing was happening. They told me there is a problem with the label. I was texting again and again trying to find out when I can get the parcel. They said that Chronopost will send it back to them and they will resend it to me with a different courier. They couldn't and wound't send the same parcel to me instead, they are waiting for Chronopost to return it to them and apparently they have no influence over the delivery service they provide. On the 21 for November they texted saying that they will compensate the shipping costs to me, I've got no money from them still and no confirmation that such payment was made. The whole experience is a disgrace. I didn't get the parcel or the money. They keep promising to send it when they will get it back. I will never order from them again. They ruined beautiful surprises I prepared for my friend and I can't afford to spend the same amount of money twice.

This one is located in the Carrousel du Louvre, which is the mall attached to the Louvre, so it is easy to find. Once inside the store you will be able to find that unique gift you want to give to someone or that item that you never knew you needed. The staff here (and at all Pylones) are always nice, friendly, and helpful. This is a great place to find those truly unique thing that you probably did not know even existed.

While malls die all over America, retail still thrives in Paris. Exhibit A: Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. I've been to this department store a number of times over the years, and I both enjoy it and fear how completely it can suck up precious vacation hours. It's a fantastic place to shop, with a ton of well curated inventory spread out across multiple floors in multiple buildings. The main building features that beautiful domed ceiling, which manages to catch me by surprise every time I walk in. I haven't had the opportunity to shop for my own clothes here in a long time, but I've gotten some really great stuff on the children's floor, and discovered the souvenir section on my last visit, where I picked up some cool Paris Metro toy trains and magnets. We did somehow get stuck at Galeries Lafayette for over two hours and ended up skipping Notre-Dame, which might have been a better place to spend our last afternoon in Paris. But it was sale season, and my kids look super cute in their heavily discounted Petit Bateau. Galeries Lafayette is busy and sometimes overwhelming, but it's a wonderful department store. I wish we had something like it back home. I'd much rather shop there than fall for targeted ads on Instagram.
