Some of these officers are a waste of space. Sitting behind a camera giving parking tickets via…read moremail when ur not even parked. So I called about the ticket I got from "parking" while I was waiting for the car in front of me to go and I was told by the EOPD that I'm supposed to pass them "on the left with double solid lines" as if that's not an improper passing ticket or a reckless/careless driving ticket. Laziest officers 1/2 of them can't read a street sign to save their life let alone tell from a damn street camera if a car is parked or not as if my brake lights aren't on in the pic they sent me.

I kept attempting to file a police report and she kept threatening me not to file one, they kept fabricating my police report to their own opinions even though I had video footage of the incident they kept gas lighting me & threatening me. They asked me if my medical records were made up and if I had bribed my doctor to write my injuries . while knowing I have not one but two disabilities including autism the police mocked me and asked me why I didn't call the police for assistance when they were made aware of my disability. the most incompetent & horrid people I've ever met in my life. they will insert their own opinions into cases which influences their judgments. it made the entire process uncomfortable because without thought I'm thinking hey I'm handing over my medical records which I handed over to detective J.Barry and all the sudden my psyhcial copy of my medical records has disappeared. I personally assume she was using my wrongful conviction against me & inflicting more trauma than we already had. Not to mention that detective J.Barry ( a woman detective ) has gotten her peers to lie to me and tell me the prosecutor doesn't want to charge him mind you the prosecutor assured me he never said that. they also kept making up a lot of fabricated reports on my head, creating just problems after problems for me. They insert themselves into a case and will in my opinion delete evidence or edit to their liking.

I don't know why the State of NJ chooses to treat its residents like this (that we deserve nothing but bare-bones jail visiting room decor, passive-aggressive handwritten signs, no pens, 1980s technology) but hey we need to get licenses and plates and whatever. Some tips: 1. Bring a pen. They don't have pens or they will lend you a pen and make you feel scared and indebted to them for the privilege. 2. Go in the middle of the month if you can. They're busiest during beginning and end of the month. 3. Be nice to the people working there. Even if they are rude to you, they have an incredibly tough job and deserve kindness. Plus I found most of them are very nice and helpful if you're properly deferential. 4. The six points of ID thing is super important. Make sure you got everything you need before you go. In the long term we need a 21st century DMV (sorry, MVC) that respects its workers and users, not a dilapidated 1980s Soviet bus station. I hope the MVC workers' union gets militant and starts demanding much more funding. But in the meantime I went on a Friday afternoon and had a fine experience.

I want to commend the NJMVC based out of East Orange, N.J. and specifically Lucille and Michael. On…read moreApril 7, 2026 they helped me get replacement plates just before closing time. The police had stopped me that day and informed me that my rear license plate was from a reported stolen car. Apparently, the day before, someone had unscrewed my rear license plate and replaced it with a plate from a stolen vehicle. Long story short, I rushed to the DMV in Newark as I needed new plates. They could not help me there and said I needed to go the East Orange office. When I arrived at the East Orange DMV it was approaching closing time. I went to the info desk where Lucille gave me the necessary paper work to fill out and clear instructions on what I needed to complete. As I was filling out the paper work, she kindly came over to me to remind me know they were closing soon and that Michael would assist me once I completed the paper work. Once done, Michael was ready and processed the paper work and within minutes I had my new plates. I so appreciate their help and professionalism. I know the DMV often gets a bad rap, but I have nothing but praise for Lucille's and Michael's help that day. Also, the DMV folks in Newark were kind enough to find the East Orange location for me so I could get going. Thank you!
