Dr. Franson has been taking care of my feet for well over a decade and he has kept me on them. Through 2 surgeries and many visits for broken bones, torn tendons and nerve impingements he has kept me going. He always fixes whatever problem I bring to him. He's kind, compassionate, caring and has a great bedside manner. He also has a great sense of humor and is an absolute expert in his field! Everyone on his team is also amazing. His entire office staff is so helpful and kind. I can't say enough great things about Dr. Franson's practice. I highly recommend him for any foot or ankle issues. read more

Dr Franson is every bit worth 5 Stars! Excellent bedside manner, kind, very friendly while professional the entire visit. Highly recommend him! His office staff were also friendly and professional. We appreciated he had a young HS student observing and it was a great opportunity the doctor allows for up and coming students to "test the medical waters" for their future profession. Thank you Dr Franson! read more

Was sent here on a recommendation from another patient.. the office staff and Dr. Franson couldn't have been more kind or helpful! I had extreme pain due to plantar fasciitis and he did an injection (painless as promised ) and ordered orthotics for me. Would definitely recommend! read more

I went to him with a toe nail problem. The skin on the side of my toe nail was red & tender. The toenail itself was fine and growing normal. He decided to cut part of the toenail out and it grew back deformed so now I have a very painful ingrown toenail which I never had before. read more

Excellent podiatrist! The staff is very professional, they schedule well so the waiting area isn't backed up with patients, they're timely for appointments yet Dr. Franson doesn't make you feel rushed. He cares about you and listens. I've been so happy with him that I've referred several friends. My Mom and my husband are his patients now, too! I drive 40 miles for an appt to see him.. that's how happy i am with his care. read more

OMGosh I have found the Most Perfect Doctor in all of Ca. Years ago I had an ingrown toenail and boy did it hurt. I went to see Dr. Briskin who is in the same orthopedic group except he's in Santa Monica. I never had a problem until I started getting pedicures from a nail salon. They would cut the nail on the sides. I would tell the owner that I had surgery on my toes and that they could not cut my nails on the sides. They would laugh and do it anyway. I was so upset because in spite of my warnings they cut them badly and now I find myself having to get surgery to remove an ingrown toenail again. I stopped going to that awful salon and found out that most podiatrist offices do pedicures and their instruments are sterilized. Also I saw Nike shoes in one office for diabetics. Did you know you are able if you are a diabetic to get free brand new Nikes every year. Your Endocrinologist just needs to fill out a form for you to give to your podiatrist. Getting back to Dr. Franson ; I walked into his office building and it's beautiful. His office girls at the front desk are so warm and friendly. They really care about their Doctor's patients. I was very scared because I hate needles ! His fellow came in and touched my toe and explained the procedure. He was very charming and nice. He was gentle and had a great bedside manner. Then Dr. Franson came in with his Assistant. He looks 40 something and reminds you of Trapper John on Mash. I told him I was so scared of getting the numbing shot so he proceeded to distract me. He started asking me questions about my life. He was so easy going and I found myself telling him about my life. Not even my good friends know that much about my life. I felt like I'd just had a therapy session. lol it distracted me though & got me through the surgery without a hitch. He's good! He also showed me pictures of his beautiful wife and children that he is so very proud of. I love that he loves his family so much. You can trust a man like him. He has integrity. A few days later I developed an infection in my toe. I called his office and the front desk said she would let the Doctor know. His Assistant called me back and had me send a picture of my toe to see if it was infected. I sent the pictures and the Doctor himself called me back and said I needed antibiotics so I got them & I'm doing great. All my Doctors are like Dr. Franson, caring and you feel blessed to have such incredible people take care of you when you need them. I highly recommend Dr. Franson to everyone. He's a Doctor who cares. read more

Dr. Franson did surgery on my left foot to repair a break in my second metatarsal and said he would fix my bunion and hammer toes at the same time. I was a runner and very active. The surgery sounded pretty extensive, so I was concerned and reminded him many times how active I was and how important it was to me to be able to continue being active. He promised me that everything would go ok and that I didn't need to worry. After surgery I went home and as my foot was still numb I felt fine. By the second day as the numbness had worn off I was in the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. The pain was unrelenting and since I am pretty tough and can usually get through anything I thought I could get through this also. I don't usually take any painkillers, but took one and it didn't help at all. Since then I've heard about when nerves are cut/damaged during surgery and the horrible pain that people experience and realized that is what I was experiencing. I have never felt, nor think I will ever feel again so much pain. My boyfriend had to drive me back to Dr. Franson's office with every bounce in the car sending waves of pain. I told Dr. Franson he needed to numb me again all over my foot. That lasted a day and then the next day it was still a lot of pain, for many weeks, but at least bearable. 2 years later the pain is still constant, but bearable. When the cast came off the big toe was tilted in to the left more than it had been before "removing the bunion" and the second toe that had the broken 2nd metatarsal (whole reason for the surgery) still felt and feels broken (can't put any pressure on it at all other than regular walking...so no working out...can't run, do squats, lunges, yoga, etc), the pinkie is now crossed permanently over the fourth toe and I have to tape it down to wear shoes. I can never walk barefoot because if I step on any little thing it is intensified and sends shooting pain all through my foot. And at the same time as feeling all this pain, it feels like large segments of my foot are a block and have lost all nerve sensation. So my balance is off and when walking I have to really focus, or I lose balance and can fall, or just have to hold onto people when walking. This is after doing everything I was told to do after surgery as far as physical therapy. I did physical therapy for a year after surgery in his office praying and hoping that would somehow make my now hugely abnormal foot normal again, or at least functional. I did my foot exercises at home (and still do), and wear my custom made foot insoles every day. I went from extremely active, healthy, athletic and young feeling to feeling way older than my years. I have waited 2 years to post this because I am such a positive person, and kept hoping by some miracle this would turn around, and also because Dr. Franson really is a nice person, but out of responsibility to those who are contemplating surgery at his hands I felt the need to post my experience. I'm sure for small things he is just fine, but for major surgery...this was my outcome. I gave him one star because I don't think it's possible to give no stars...I don't think there could have been a worst possible outcome in my situation, other than not being able to walk at all read more

I've been a patient for years always great I'm treated like family. Dr Franson and staff are the best!!!

What can I say that hasn't already been mentioned. After years of being told there nothing to do but give your Achilles time to self heal, Dr Franson, on my first visit gave me 3 options. Three more than two previous doctors had. We opted for surgery. I'm one week post op and already know I made the correct choice. Dr Franson is truly a state of the art Dr with the added blessing of what old time medicine had, he truly cares for his patients well being. Thank God for putting me in Dr Franson and team's path. I'm motivated to heal up and get back to normal. read more

Doctor Franson is the perfect pediatrist! He is smarter, kinder, and more efficient than all the rest. He has done multiple surgeries for my ex-athlete father's messed up feet and fixed other relatives' (who will remain nameless) foot fungus and other assorted injuries and general grossness of the feet! The nurses that work there and assistants are super-kind as well. Go here first! read more

I reached out to Dr Franson after many years of pain when running, walking, standing etc. I continued with the pain and had several consultations/treatments from different Doctors with no success. Because of an active lifestyle and tired of the pain, I contacted Dr Franson's office for help. After my first meeting with Dr Franson I was impressed with his confident and calm manner in addressing my issues. When consulting with Dr Franson you immediately know that your dealing with a Doctor that is professional, knowledgeable and experienced. Dr Franson operated on both of my ankles with tremendous success! My type of surgeries can take up to a year to totally heal but I feel like a new person. I'm back to my regular routines, running, walking etc. The 2nd surgery was a complicated surgery with multiple problems including a major achilles tendon repair. The surgery, the staff, the after care were all top notch. The office staff are also very personable, efficient and extremely helpful and friendly, I've never waited more then 5 minutes to see Dr Franson. Yes, no surgeries are pleasant... but I wouldn't hesitate to do it again as long as Dr Franson is my Doctor. read more

I read the yelp reviews but I still wanted to do my own research. I asked for info on facebook from people who had surgery done by Dr. Franson. Every response was positive and I also spoke to my general Dr. who I found out had had Dr. Franson do his surgery. He had the choice of many surgeons including Ortho surgeons and chose Dr. Franson. That was enough for me and, let me tell you, I am so glad I did. I am 5 days post op and had minimal pain and felt like I was in great hands. Dr. Franson listened to all my questions (and I had quite a few) and answered all of them with a non rushed attitude. Dr. Franson will always be our family podiatrist and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone considering surgery. read more
