We had some very bad weather causing delays in getting the roof work started but we were kept informed every step of the way. When we finally scheduled a day for the work to begin, the guys showed up early and explained what was going to happen and how they would protect our plants, etc. Because more rain was in the forecast, they sent 10-12 workers who completed the job in about 5 1/2 hours. His price was significantly less than the other roofer using the same brand. Moreover he evaluated the existing venting and included the improvement in the cost. (Proper venting improves the life of the roof and lowers energy costs.) Additionally Paul added a couple of short roof sections that should have had gutters but didn't. Besides a fuller evaluation, Paul's estimate was more detailed than the other estimates. After the estimate, Paul came back to remeasure a skylight, which he had concerns about and found that a custom-sized skylight was required. He absorbed the extra cost. It took several weeks for the skylight to be made, but the big day finally arrived. During the reroofing process, Paul took photos of the decking to let us see that it was in good shape. After the underlayment was installed, he sent us pictures to show it was properly done. I really appreciated him keeping us involved and letting us see the degree of workmanship. Throughout the whole process Paul kept in touch with us with 37 emails and numerous texts, which included options for flashing, gutters, and downspouts. Plus he came by several times to show us samples so we could see the actual colors. After the roof was complete, Paul and the roofing crew cleaned up debris in our yard as well as our neighbors.
