Review Visit: March 11th, 2015 Do you love board games? Magic the Gathering? Puzzles? Then this place is Just For You! Just For Fun has just about every board game you can think of. With the exception of the mass produced ones (Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, etc). If you are looking for it, they probably have it. They have shelves and shelves and shelves full of games. They have a huge stash behind the registers. They have stuff on the counter. If you can't find a board game in here that interests you, then you probably are not really into board games. They also offer your usual Magic: the Gathering offerings. Cards, sleeves, decks, pre-releases, etc. Their prices are fair on those, except they charge more for the Magic pre-releases. Why? Probably because they can and people pay it. Also offered are odds and ends. Dice. Playmats. Those figures you paint and then set up battles for (sorry, I don't know the technical name for that). Board Game night on Thursday, last I knew. They have casual gaming areas where I think you can just come in with your friends, snag a table and play. Overall, a great store for the Peoria area. Staff has been wonderful pretty much every time I've been in there though. Since their initial opening, they have moved locations several times. Hopefully their current spot is home to them for a long time. Their rating would be a bit higher, but overcharging for Magic pre-releases irks me more than it should. Just For Fun has an incredible board game selection, one of the best I've ever seen at a game store. The folks at the counter are knowledgeable and can help you find games or recommend a game if you're not quite sure what you're looking for. The prices are pretty standard; they're not offering sales that I've seen, but they're also not marking stuff way above retail either. As someone who prefers to browse shelves and look at the games in order to make my board game purchases, I haven't found a better store for that anywhere. I can easily spend 2+ hours browsing the aisles, sitting on the floor to examine a game and read reviews on BoardGameGeek, and I've never been bothered for it. They also have a selection of games you can just play, if you're looking to kill some time or test something out before considering a purchase. There's a limited selection of used games for sale at a discount; you may find something cool there or maybe not, it depends on when you go. They have an okay selection of dice, miniatures, and RPG books. I've seen gaming stores with a better selection in that category, but they don't have the board game selection that Just For Fun does. I know this store does events (Magic, other card games, board games, etc.) but I live almost an hour away so I have never come in for those. Still, I know every time I come in that I'm going to be leaving with several new games, and a smile on my face. I'm very thankful this place exists! read more

Horrible experience. I've lived in the area for a little over four years and was super duper excited to shop here. In fact I even messaged them on FB prior to moving here to let them know I was going to be a regular and couldn't wait. Over these four years I frequently shopped here buying half a dozen to maybe ten books, too many minis to count and a few board games to boot. Maybe I am not keeping their doors opened with these purchases but I tried my best. Especially considering I could buy everything cheaper online but I just wanted to help a small business and have a home game store. Although the staff and I never bonded I was still was happy to spend what I could here. They always had what I was looking for in-stock except for one Kobold Press book. The lady was most helpful in ordering the book I wanted and contacted me when it came in. It took a little longer than she said, I am sure at no fault of hers. By the time it got in life hit had and the money I had set aside had to go elsewhere. With my tail between my legs, ashamed that I couldn't get the book right then and there. I went in and let them know to put it on the shelf as I couldn't afford it for three more weeks. Which is whenmy tax return came in. She said no worries it will have no problem selling. I apologized again and asked if I could look at it. It wasn't a sealed book or anything so I saw no problem with the request. She reluctantly agreed and after I thumbed through a tenth of the book, not reading just breezing through looking at the art and stuff. She approached me and said if I read the whole thing it wasn't sellable as a new book. So she snatched it from my grasp. She treated me as I was the lowest of low lifes. All because at this time I couldn't buy this book. She humiliated me. I felt knee high to grasshopper. I apologize again for not being made of money and holding up my end of the bargain but I would have bought the book. Shame on you for how you made me feel. You can do better! read more

This is a great game store and we love stopping through here whenever we are traveling through the area. Space: the front half of the store is devoted to games: miniatures, card, board, collectible card games, role playing games, etc. It is well organized and easy to find what you seek or just browse through the large selection. There is also a nice selection of used books, where I find many treasures. The back half of the store is devoted to gaming. There are at least 3 separate rooms (maybe 4) for various types of play. Each area is divided with enough walls to keep the noise levels down. There is even a private room for gaming if you reserve it. The restrooms are clean and modern, which is far better than many games stores! There are also vending machines for the Mountain Dew binges as well as snacks. The owner is a friendly, polite, and professional individual. He is willing to go that extra mile to help you find the things you seek or order it if not in store. If you are in this area and need a gaming space, materials, or just want to hang out, this is the place to go. If you are just passing through the area, make sure to stop by and see a great gaming store...you might find something you need (or just want). read more

The employee's are super knowledgeable. If they don't already have what you need in stock (unlikely), they will get it. There are multiple popular games that can be demoed. There are many groups of very experienced players friendly and willing to teach newbies. There is so much to see in this store you can spend hours dreaming of what is next to come. Top notch store with a terrific selection of board games and puzzles. A bit light on the RPG side outside of Pathfinder and D&D but compensates in terms of overall selection of miniatures and painting supplies. Plus lots of onsite space for gaming! read more
