However, obtaining the "Classroom Completion--Notice of Transfer" form--that we needed by law, apparently--was like extracting a tooth. It wasn't that MADS was begrudging us for jumping ship. Rather, Jim, whom I'm guessing is the owner, was simply overwhelmed or unable to deal with the newfangled computer technology. He sent a screenshot of the form that was not submitted to DMV, and the new driving school wouldn't accept that. It took nearly a week of many ignored text messages and screenshots, unanswered phone calls to Jim (but no voice messages--MADS voicemail was full) for him to finally realize that he needed to merely hit the "submit" button on that screen for the form to go to the DMV, who would then forward to us. Jim, when I was able to get him on the phone, finally, even suggested that the form was lost at DMV. So I spent a good hour on the phone with DMV to track it down. What a colossal waste of time for something that should've been automatic! Ultimately, I was disappointed by how Jim handled the entire mess. On the one hand, he did his best. On the other, DMV said that MADS should've directly given us that completion form when my son completed the online course. This seems very unprofessional of MADS not to have. So, MADS seems like an average driving school, but a bit technologically challenged, overwhelmed, and not responsive. Had Jim simply listened to the problem and reacted responsibly--or apologized--I would've given the school 3 stars, or not written a review at all.

Tim is passionate about helping teach and guide to make the roads a safe place to drive. Our son had already been through classes at a different school and after failing his test the first time, we asked Tim to take some time to help sharpen his skills prior to his next test attempt. There were things our son hadn't even learned about driving that we already paid good money for him to learn. After just two times of driving, he was a completely different driver. He passed his test with very few points being taken off. Thank you Tim and Jerzy for being so amazing at what you do and for using your talents to teach others. We are eternally grateful!

I watched my son gain confidence and skill at the conclusion of each driving lesson hour! The State DMV requires 50 hours of practice driving with a licensed Adult. The first 5 hours with my son were difficult as we drove slowly in our neighborhood. He began his hourly 4Lakes Driving School lessons and the growth in his ability to control the car was amazing to see! I no longer feared going on his practice driving times! My son benefited because I didn't feel the need to admonish or caution him to pay attention to his car control. I would like to thank the staff at 4Lakes as my son developed into an attentive, skillful and safe licensed driver! Cristian, JP and Chris were especially helpful, calm and understanding teachers. Tim takes calls on his cell phone when in the car with students and then yells at the caller for asking questions when with students. Common sense would say don't answer if you aren't available. Also sent two texts months prior about him rescheduling the final lesson with no response which just continues to delay.
