This is a cute little book shop on the main street in Brighouse. It is jam packed with every book…read moreyou could imagine, from cooking to sports to novels to autobiographies. Half of the shop is packed with children's books for all ages. Baby books to teenage books. There are educational books too like the Letts maths and English ones. They also sell wall charts, maps and calendars. The women who work there are very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't attempt to get in the shop with a double buggy! The prices are very reasonable and they do some good offers such as 3 for £5 on children's books.

They also specialise in arts and crafts supplies and you can often find things in here that the mainstream stationery stores do not offer. The service is great and the people that work here really know their stuff. They are all very friendly. Because of its independent nature you can expect to pay slightly more here than you would in a chain store as they can't afford to offer the same deals but it would be a shame if shops like this disappeared.

I especially like the section (IIRC close to the travel guides) with books about the local area of Halifax and Yorkshire. Other sections include biography, history, politics, and school textbooks. There's also stationary available. Aside from a few reduced books, most items are full price, so you might prefer to buy on Amazon or EBay.

W H Smith is always a really good shop for you siumple stationary for work/school/college. It's…read morecheap for just a few items, it's also a good place to pick up the lastest dvds or chart cds at competitive prices, gift vouchers can be purchased too which is handy for birthday/christmas gifts, they have a selection of birthday cards too and papers and magazines so its a good place for that if your passing by. I also like w h smith products as their good quality and the folders ect have good, simple designs

They offer a wide array of traditional sweets as well as chocolate bars and drinks. They also sell a large selection of magazines and papers they manage to fit quite a bit in to a small shop. The sales people are very friendly and the sweets are pretty good value. Great location as well and quick service means its ideal for just popping in on a lunch break.
