We were quoted a little over $400 for 3/4 load and it would be $500 if it was a full truck, including a 10% charge for being on the second floor. So worst case scenario, would have been $500. When the job was done, they tried to charge nearly $700. They changed the price of a full load and then said that the 10% was no longer rolled into the price AND wanted to charge a $20 fee to pay with a credit card, also not disclosed and an excessive charge since merchant fees are in the 3% range and they shouldn't be charging more than the $500 quoted. Next, they said we had to pay them that to "close the file" before they would address the damage to the floors. They scratched the hard wood flooring and will not address until they get payment in full. Needless to say, there is no credibility since the first part of the experience was false. Overcharging the job in the first place... Then, refusing to fix the damage. I would be very careful with these people. We had someone there painting the unit so this was all with someone WATCHING over them. NOTE: Most of the reviews are 2+ years old... Due your diligence on them before you use them. UPDATE: Trying to file a claim with their insurance company directly since they are trying to get payment before addressing the damage. Needless to say, if we paid them, they would disappear without a trace and we be out the charge (including the overcharge of nearly $200) and would have to pay to have the floors done out of pocket as well... So, their insurance agent gave us the underwriter so we can try and file a claim with them directly. read more

To my shock, they told me that they only used 3/8 of a truck and not 1/2. That other big company doesn't do that - what you say you need is what you pay for. While I worked an awful lot over the fall and winter to get all of the leaves and other yard waste cleaned up, there was just too much for me to keep up with. After recently getting a bunch of massive piles build up all around the yard, I realized I just don't have time (or a yard waste sticker) to get rid of all this stuff. Made a few calls and this place called me back fast (within the hour), and had an opening the very next morning. They were extremely professional, on time, and fair with price. They quoted me a price for just under a half truck load, and even though it ended up being a little more than half the truck, they stuck to their quote and a few hours later, my yard is finally clear of debris I should have taken care of months ago. What to do when you've got a pile of yard debris in your backyard measuring roughly 6 feet tall and 20 feet long? Well, you don't depend on the city's yard waste system (unless you want to give yourself approx 3 years to rid yourself of it all!). We called the Junk Patrol, and they arrived on time to assess the situation. They wagered it would be about $700 for removal, and Phil haggled them down to $600. About which we immediately felt guilty... the team consisted of two guys manually picking up pieces of the pile and throwing it into the back of a hauling truck -- ie, a lot of manual labor. After they finished the first load and carted it away (which took about an hour), I looked out the window and realized they'd grabbed a broken rake -- just the plastic rake head, with no pole -- from the old shed (something the predecessors had sitting around) and were using it to try and shovel up bits of debris. I was surprised they didn't bring their own equipment, but I think they weren't expecting quite the scale of the job we had. Before hauling away the 2nd truckload, they actually called my husband and said they completely underestimated the amount of waste and work, and would need to bump the price back up to $700. It may seem odd, but we actually agreed that that would be a more fair price (and in reality, it was a price break of around $550 as they charge $500 per full truckload). After the 3rd load was piled up and ready to go, Constantinos walked me around back to show me the cleared piles, and pointed out that the agreed price was heavily discounted -- but he didn't do so in a way that was accusing or unhappy; basically, he said that he knows everyone is working with a budget, and that they do their best to work within that budget when possible. After all the work they'd managed, and the polite and professional way they handled that, I felt like they were one of the best services I've hired in this new home process. Both Ryan, the lead, and his partner, were very polite, professional and thorough. They had just come from a job so their truck was already half full. They couldn't take all of our stuff but referred us to another company who were able to come out the next day to take the items Junk Patrol couldn't take. This was a life saver given that my wife and I were on the clock and needed to get this done before heading home to the west coast. Went the extra mile. I was throwing away 25 year old furniture to empty a house prior to a renovation. They showed up on time and did a great job filling an entire junk truck in 1 1/2 hours. But more importantly my wife came home and said she had one drawer in a 9 drawer dresser than wasn't empty, although i though i checked. I called Junk Patrol and I had 1 mattress ( a king size) and a few boxes and they charged me $180.00...They first quoted me $200.00 and I said what..It is $30.00 for a dump run and this will take you 20 minutes to this ....The guy stated that it will be a 1/4 truck load...It took them 20 minutes and it was not even close to a 1/4 of a truck load...I would not recommend this company they are to much money for the amount of time and load that I had... read more

I scheduled my appointment online by selecting a date and time. There no menus or pull down lists to choose which might specify what you want hauled away or how much you have....just date and time. Using the websites "junk calculator" I had anticipated a full truck load. The website did say, "agree to the price we offer, and we will haul it away right then and there..." or something to that effect. When the team arrived, both great guys by the way, I showed the large, large pile of yard waste I wanted hauled off to the team leader, CT. My appointment was on a Thursday, I took off work, and I needed the pile gone by Saturday for a social gathering at my new home. When CT saw the huge pile, he was very gracious when he told me that there was no way they would be able to haul that away on that day. They would have needed advanced knowledge of how much there was and needed more than 1 truck. He said they would be able to get it done on Monday. I explained that that would not work for me and told him the situation. I also mentioned that there was no place on the website when scheduling an appointment to let them know how much junk you think you have, if there were, I could have given that information and the team could have made arrangements. At this point in the negotiation process, I was NOT thrilled with where this was going, but CT being the gentleman that he is, suggested that the team could make a special trip back out to Wake Forest the next day and have it gone for Saturday and I wouldn't have to be at the house. I have to tell you this was the greatest act of customer service I have seen in a great while. They hauled away what they could fit in their truck that day, and did in-fact return the next day. As it turned out, however, the pile of yard waste wasn't large after all, it was GIGANTIC and incorporated a much larger area than either me or CT had imagined or seen. CT said that it would take many, many, many more loads with their size truck to handle it all. The 1 truck that they did haul away did make a very sizable "dent" in the GIGANTIC waste pile. I was very, very pleased, thank you CT and team. Although, now I am kicking myself for not offering up a token of my appreciation to both guys.
