I decided to go with Martin Hauling Demolition and Cleaning Up because his estimate was reasonable. After I received the quote, I realized I forgot to mention that I had stairs, so I updated him. He increased the price by $100. I understood the price increase and luckily, he was available the same day and arrived within a couple of hours. However, when he arrived, he increased the price by another $100. Sweet Jesus! I was ready to cancel, but I really wanted everything gone, so I reluctantly agreed. He said it was a lot but I took pictures and attached them when I asked for a quote. So he knew how much prior to his arrival. On the other hand, he was able to park his truck directly below my balcony and ended up tossing everything over the balcony into the truck. After all, he never had to carry anything down the stairs so I didn't feel the additional increase was justified. The job itself was completed in less than an hour, and I told him I wasn't comfortable with the final price. To his credit, he asked what I thought was fair, and we agreed on a lower amount. Even so, I still paid more than I expected and more than his original quote. I would give 5 stars for being available the same day, arriving quickly, and getting the job done. I would give 1 star for the pricing experience and the unexpected increases. Because of that, I wouldn't use or recommend Martin Hauling Demolition and Cleaning Up.

I got text reminders the day before and the day of the appointment. Andy, Juan, and Ruben arrived at 11 am in a truck. Andy assessed the amount of stuff that needed to be hauled away and quoted me $550 for the service. I agreed to the amount and they got started right away. I recently returned and in the past three weeks the trucks have driven right past my home. I called several times and was given assurance that a truck would pick up my trash the next day. I was again given assurances over the phone when I called twice on that alleged pickup day that everything was ok and the bins would pick-up by 6:00 pm They weren't..it was a Friday which meant an additional weekend ...two more days with no pick up. I had to cancel with a group that was scheduled to help with weeding and clearing my yard the following day as I had no where to put the trash..and that means I am now back at the bottom of the queue. And today once again the truck has driven right past my house. Athens were wonderful. Universal, to put it mildly, most certainly is not.
