I say this because they allow the woman that is in charge (during the week at least) wrote the book on bad, surly customer service. Twice I have encountered this person and twice I have left feeling that SHE was doing me a favour by serving me. I will give any business a pass once, but this woman needs to change jobs. I am appalled at the poor service here in Canada in general as compared to say the USA where they treat the person that brings the money as important. I am a Canadian and so this is not biased against Canada, just an observation from someone that has seen extensively how other countries compare. This woman in the pro shop at Smiths Falls Golf Club makes playing the course, not worth it. She will start your game off on the wrong foot. Which golfer needs that?? The nice course cannot make up for her poor attitude! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE, is my recommendation.

I've been here for breakfast a few times and have been pretty happy with it. To start the service was awesome. Servers looked after us like family. We don't see much of that these days. The food was incredible. My nephew order a burger. Man, it looked great and according to him tasted awesome. It was s monster. Lol. My sister and brother in law bot had stir fries. They were both satisfied and happy with them. I decided to try out the jerk chicken. So juicy and tender. Flavor galore. Even the dipping sauce was incredible. The rice and bean salad added to the dish and I left there with a contented and full belly. Overall this place was awesome. The business has been around for a while and since the mini-putt course is outside it has become quite weathered. It has not been very well maintained which adds an extra challenge to playing the course, but since the activity is so inexpensive, we quite enjoyed the extra challenge. The driving range was busy with a constant stream of new golfers. There is a noisy ball machine providing buckets of balls for the range which was used fairly regularly. There were all ages on the range from retired to families with little golfers and since the range is away from the main road, it's a safe place to have some fun with friends or practice your swing. Personally, I have never hit a long range golf ball but it looks like I will be trying it soon!

I had forgotten its location but the big giraffe out front... this is where I used to mininputt as a kid with people no longer with us. I love that the new owner of about 10 years had kept the integrity of the mini putt area. The same little barn, humpty dumpy, church on the putt putt greens... Original, just maybe fixed up a bit. 34 acres. Long driving range. New tavern with drinks and snacks. Food truck. A putting area. Wow. My dog was welcome and we had a nice time at the tavern outer area. Serene. I'll go back. This place has great vibes for me.

This course definitely challenged my abilities with my not even half-set of borrowed clubs, and I shot about 6 strokes over my best, not too shabby looking back, as it was a bit more difficult of a course overall. I strongly recommend this course, as well as it's partner, the Pakenham Hills Golf Club (owned by the same people I found out). Calabogie has a lot more dog legs and uphills/downhills/sidehills, and approaching most of the greens much less the fairways will tax you mentally. The scenery is quite serene, and the Saturday I went, it was very peaceful and quiet for about the first 45 minutes, so I got to take in the farmlands adjacent to the course, and taking all the sounds and smells and sights in all while playing one of the better courses I've played since arriving in Canada. If you're looking to improve your score the same day, this is not the course for you. If you are looking to improve your overall game play and course management, then make the trip and play this 18.

If you are a fantastic golfer, this might not be the course for you. There is a driving range, an executuve par 3 course, and an 18 hole course that is 6000 yards long. Complete with breath taking views and a patio grill/bar that makes you not want to go home...The golf staff is attentive and the wait staff dedicated. I did not partake in the live entertainment provided by the club on Friday evenings but heard that it is most enjoyable. The prices are right and I am looking forward to booking an outing here next year!
