The best sushi in Guadalajara, equal in quality to some of the best sushi restaurants in NYC and even Japan. As other reviewers noted, it doesn't look like much; just a few oriental panels and a door next to a much bigger restaurant that has sidewalk space in the popular Andares mall area.. But the maitre d will walk you through the bar area of La Docena, and suddenly you are in a very traditional Japanese sushi bar. It is not cheap - you have a choice of omakase A or B, i.e., fixed-price menu, for which you can expect to pay American-ish prices. The chef will prepare each dish individually in front of you, and while you can't choose the menu, you can tell them to avoid anything that you are allergic to or truly dislike. You *can* choose from a nice selection on their drinks menu, which includes a choice of matcha or regular hot green tea as well as cold drinks and alcohol. My meal started with a sashimi sampler and proceeded to at least half a dozen other pieces, including a confection of foie gras, uni, and shaved black truffle. Another transcendental mouthful was the tuna belly with uni. There was also an authentic miso soup and a couple of pieces of tempura vegetable with cod for a hot course; plus, I ordered a couple of extra pieces after the main meal. Service quality was on a par with the food. Will definitely return. Tapatios, este restaurante tiene lo mejor sushi en Guadalajara. Si, es caro pero la calidad es tan alta como los precious. Muy autentico y muy rico. read more
